ABANDONED PROJECTS
Here is a little side page for those that are curious. This is  where I go over the stories that I had in progress but have now eventually abandonded. Mostly here for my own self scathing, as I'm feeling particularly sadistic at the moment *grin*.  But some of these I might go back to some day and perhaps try again. But for now, they are simply "abandonded"
Aurorae Falls
This story was created during a time when I was feeling...how to say, very Anti-Anti Mary Sue. Not that I've changed my mind about liking perfect characters, but I was very disgused with the live journal Mary Sue community and the witch hunt it had become. What was once a huge part of my mindless entertainment online had become boring and annoying. So just be snarky I originally set out to write a story of pure indulgence. That and I was  in a particularly shoujo-romantic-fantasy-ish. Mood so I created "Aurorae Falls" a story about a girl who makes a wish on a falling star, during the Aurora Borealis and the magic of the Northern Lights sweeps her off to a magical land where she meets her oh so pretty and oh so angsty boyfriend who goes through a series of rather viscious totures all while using this strange girl from another land as his single beacon of hope for happiness. He ends up coming out of the torture with a limp and his hair turned silvered and grey.  All because of the horrors he had to endure and managed to some howcome out with mostly sane, by using said girl as his avatar during the dark, dark time.  There by coming unfailing obessesed and semi-controlling of her. It was to be a dark fantasy romance and I was absolutely in thrall of it for a long, long time. Till I told a friend about it  and she gave me a kind of gave me a side long glance that made me do the same to my own story. After trying several times to get this idea to work, it had only come off the ground when I tried and gave up in  applying the idea towards a fan fiction trilogy to Elizabeth Haydon's Symphony of Ages series.  I still  want to do something vaguely "Vision of Escaflowne" -ish with this story someday. But for now, it's something shoved in the back of the idea closet for a rainy day when I've finished a few things and have run dry and am in need of a story.
Possible Future Outlook: NOT HOPEFULL
Reason for Abandonment:
Alicorn's Choice
Possible Future Outlook: POSTIVE POTENTIAL
This little baby was to be my own crappy tribute to Mercedes Lackey during a sudden phase of Lackey love I was having. I was heavily inspired by the second book in her "Last Herald-Mage" trilogy. As I loved the idea of one single person the sole survivor of a horrible tragedy and coming out the better for it. I originally planned this story under a different name, and had wanted to write my own trilogy featuring said survivor from second book. But he required a huge amount of research for a fan fiction to which I just simply couldn't see myself devoting any time too.  So I decided to make my own story, with my own world and set of rules that I could bend and twist at my will. Plus I could create any happy little angsty bishounen I wanted and do what I wanted with him instead of working with someone already existing. So, I created a boy who survives an attack at a fantasy world magical school, because he was an outsider (what a surprise) and because he bonded with a magical creature called an Alicorn. Not the winged unicorns we seem to think of, but a black unicorn that's more like a giant horse, with red eyes, sharp gold hooves and a golden horn. As well as being particularly viscious and not requiring virgin purity to ride. I still like the Alicorns and intend on using them some day. But this story for now is on hold until I decide what I want to do with it.
BACK TO MAR'S FICS
Reason for Abandonment:
Fyre Dancer, The Fyre Meiden Trilogy
Possible Future Outlook: SMALL POSIBILITY
Reason for Abandonment:
Once again, I was feeing rebellious but less, rebellious towards creating a blatant mary sue for self indulgence and more for creating a story about an amazing girl who just happens to be a child of an elemental. Thus this story inspired from this anime CG picture (picture cut, from larger wallpaper found at Boyis.com). She was a mysterious, almost but not quite half formed slender whip of a girl whom enchanted me and I wanted to be here more then I wanted to write about her. I created a whole story around her featured in the desert (don't get enough good desert fantasy stories do you?) and I'm still half tempted to do something with her. But for now, she's on a back shelf as I simply lost the gusto to do something with this story. Perhaps I've evolved beyond it. I'm not sure. Either way it's abandoned for now.
