After being defeated by the Digidestined and realizing the truth
about the Digital World, Ken returned home and cried himself to sleep,
only to be troubled with nightmares of his past. When he awoke,
he didn't remember anything except that he had lost Sam, Wormmon,
and his heart. Searching for answers, Ken found himself in the
Digital World once more.

Still searching, Ken stumbled upon the Primary Villiage. There,
the baby Digimon instantly knew who he was, attacked him, and reminded
him of his crimes. Ken began to cry again, apoligized from his
heart, and promised to spend the rest of his life being the kind
person Wormmon wanted him to be. Then, his crest of Kindness glows
and he's led to a Digiegg. After touching it, it hatches into Leafmon,
Wormmon's baby form, and the two of them have a happy reunion.
Returning home, Ken tearfully reunites with his parents. Now that
his parents and Wormmon had given him a second chance, only the
Digidestined were left.

Ken made the decision that since he had left the Digital World
in such a mess, it was his sole job to clean it up. Discovering
that Arukenimon was using his control spires to turn them
into mindless evil Digimon, him and Stingmon set out to destroy
all of them. Although he tried to avoid meeting up with the
Digidestined for fear that they still hated him, their paths crossed
and Ken helped the gang out of a few jams. When a town of
Digimon was in danger of being drowned because a control-spire Digimon
was about to destroy a dam, the Digidestined had no other option
but to call on Ken. Ken came, and made a formal apoligy when the
battle was over.

Even so, Ken still felt guilty about being friends with the
Digidestined, so he kept his distance. Then came a big milestone.
Izzy informed the Digidestined that the reactor in Ken's base
was off-balence about to explode, and Davis figured it was because
Ken's crest wasn't there anymore. Dispite protests from his fellow
Digidestined, he e-mailed Ken. Ken arrived after being delayed by
Arukenimon, who had revealed to him that she had a hand in making
him the Digimon Emperor, and he had been just her "whim." When
Davis tries to take control of things, Ken explains to him on the
verge of tears that this was his responsibility and he'd fix things
even if he died trying -- nobody else was going to pay for his mistakes.
Davis manages to whack some sense into him, and when Ken experiences
friendship for the first time, Stingmon and Exveemon jogress
digivolve into Paildramon!

|
After that, the Digidestined realized Ken was one of their team, and
there was a lot more trust on either side. Slowly, Ken became a
part of theit group. Working with them to destroy control spires, and
showing up with Stingmon to save the day! Even so, he still left after every
battle. Their new enemy soon revealed herself, Arukenimon: an ultimate spider-type
Digimon. Ken vowed revenge to her, and realized he couldn't do it alone.

Even though he wasn't the Digimon Emperor, Ken was still plagued by darkness.
While wandering with only Wormmon by his side in a deep forest of the Digital
World, the darkness that Ken had first experienced when creating Kimeramon
came for him again. Terrified by what he saw, Ken held his head and screamed in
agony. Kari and Yolei, who were looking for Gatomon's Tailring nearby, came to help
and Kari and Ken both discovered that they weren't the only ones that had been drawn
into the world of darkness. Ken still hadn't recovered his full memory after he
had returned to his true self, and could only remember the bad memories of his
past. He wasn't ready to face them, or the darkness yet.
|
|
Then one night, Ken had a nightmare about being in the Digital World
with Wormmon when he was younger, and "hurting his neck." Wormmon
confirms that this actually happened, and Ken knows deep down that
something had happened to him then, and something was wrong now. While out
battling evil Digimon on the streets with the other Digidestined, Arukenimon
arrives with a van and offers Ken a proposition: Come with her, or several
kidnapped children would recieve a creul fate. Ken gets in the van. There,
he meets Oikawa, who had known his father and met him at Sam's funeral.
Here, Ken learns the truth: Embedded in his body is a
dark spore which increased his intelligence and
athletic ability, but had also turned him evil. Oikawa copies Ken's dark
seed and embeds it into the kidnapped children, whom had been fans of him
and wanted more than anything to be just like him, not knowing the
consequences of their choice.

|
Daemon, an
evil Digimon who also was after the dark spore, gave Ken another hard
choice: Come with him, or an apartment building would be burned in
one fiery attack. Ken wanted to surrender, but the Digidestined wouldn't let him.
Searching desperatly for a way to contain Daemon, only one could be found:
Sending him to the dark ocean -- the word of darkness Ken and Kari had
experienced. Raising his still-dark Digivice to the sky, Ken called
upon the darkness inside of him to open the gate, and struggled with his
fear of the darkness, screaming out his torture. The Digidestined ran to
help and encouraged him. Realizing that he had true friends by his side gave
Ken the strength he needed, and he was able finally let go of his fear.
Ken was rescued, but the dark seeds remained in the children, and
slowly they began to drift away from their friends and families like
Ken had. It hurt him so to see them be drawn into evil.

Oikawa called the dark-seeded children back to highten view terrace, and
revealed his plan of using them to open the gate to the Digital World.
In his frustration, Ken demands to know why him? And what were the control
spires? All along, Ken was Oikawa's puppet used to weaken the defences
of the Digital World. Instead of going to the Digital World because the
gate had been sealed, the gang ends up in a strange world where they
face an old enemy: Melomyotismon, whom had been inhabiting Oikawa's body.
Melomyotismon created illusions to distract the Digidestined. Ken finds
himself wandering alone in the desert, where he watches with tears in his eyes, a
vision of himself being attacked by all the Digimon he'd abused as
the Digimon Emperor. After that nightmare ends, Sam appears and tells him
to live here with him, where he would be free from his past. Wormmon
and the Digidestined shake Ken from the illusion, and Ken finds that
he can't change the past, only the future. He's paid for his crimes, it was
time to move on, and the Digidestined supported him 100%. Finally united,
the gang took on Melomyotismon and freed the worlds from his darkness.

25 years pass after the end of the Chosen Children saga. Ken
is no longer troubled by his past, and is now a detective with Stingmon
as his faithful partner. He's married too, to... (drumroll please)
... Yolei! After all their sweet moments as young Digidestined. ^__^
They are proud parents of three children: Their oldest is
a daughter that resembles Yolei, glasses and all, but with Ken's
jet-black hair. Her partner is a Poromon. Next is a son --
with a stunning resemblence to lil' Kenny-boy! He dons Yolei's
purple hair, and a Minomon bounds by his side. Their third is
a second son, a young baby with Sam's hair and a Leafmon! Their
three children carry on their parents' legacy in thr new generation
of Digidestined. |
