we haven't had a say in court,
how can they take everything?!
They have stripped our lives
away,
does this give them the right to label us
without any judgment,
while they threaten our witnesses
and threaten even our own attorney's
all without a day in court
without a chance to defend ourselves?
How can they do this?! "
I cried out in frustration.
Our attorney
looked at us with compassion,
but replied with expended care,
"These people have a
lot of power,
it shouldn't be this way, but it is.
It is not fair,
and it is not right,
but that does not change the situation as it stands.
At this point you need to prepare
yourself
for the long and expensive fight to prove your innocence.
This may well take years.
I'm sorry, but you are going
to have to prepare yourself.
You will find out who your friends are
Those with weak character will desert you
You will discover many people took advantage of you
Many of the people you will count on will turn their backs on you
There are dark days ahead.
