Bethesda Cemetery
West Terre Haute, Vigo County Indiana
I have finished both sides.  This is not all-inclusive, there are a lot of old, unreadable stones in the Cemetery, so just because you don't see someone listed doesn't mean they are not there, it just means I couldn't make out their stone.  Some of what I have may be in-correct, If you find errors, let me know. If you have additional information, such as Maiden names, full dates, etc. I will gladly add them. If you know someone is in this Cemetery in one of the sections I have completed and don't see them listed, send me the information and I will add it.  I have added an "Additions/Corrections" page.  So, if you see an * behind a Surname, it means there is a little more information about them on the additions/corrections page.  The map I have made is my own, the sections are just to help you locate someone without having to walk the entire Cemetery.  My email address is [email protected] Please put something about Bethesda in the subject line.

P.S. Section-- a --in the database (in the Old Part), was taken from volume 4 of Cemeteries, Vigo County, Indiana, in the Vigo Co. Library.  It says, "These inscriptions copied in this book are the oldest in the cemetery, behind the church, down the hill, starting at the Malcom Moseleum."  Transcribed by Virginia Wilhoit & Irene Hornaday.  These all seem to be in my sections 1-2 & 3.  But I don't know where, as I do not have a lot of these down, evidently these were transcribed quite a few years ago, when the stones were in better repair.

                             FIND A GRAVE
On the web site  www.findagrave.com there are over 600 listings for Bethesda, some with pictures.  This is a free site. They are set up to handle pictures.  I would suggest if you have a picture of a stone in Bethesda, you add it to this site, I'm going to.  If you don't have scanning capabilities, you can send me a copy of your picture, and the information, and I will add it for you, but I will not return your pictures, so it must be a copy.
