| These pictures show what was needed to install the AFCO radiator into my 1985 Mercury Capri. The top picture shows the radiator, shroud, and "insulator" . The lower picture shows the upper flex hose and upper bracket (on top of air cleaner). The shroud was needed because I installed an MSD ignition unit where my overflow tank had mounted. The 1986 to 1993 shrouds have the overflow mounted directly to them. The shroud needed to be modified to fit the radiator by cutting a .5" x .5" piece off of each end so that the shroud would sit flush against the end tanks since the core is a little more narrow than the stock one. The insulator was needed since the passenger side one is slightly smaller than the driver one. I simply installed two driver side insulators. The upper hose was needed since the upper fitting on the radiator is 1.5" versus 1.25" on a stock radiator. The upper bracket was used because the stock upper brackets could not be used. I bought the bracket where I got the radiator. Also note in the top picture that I used a lenght of hose to insulate the point at which the upper bracket contacts the radiator |
