I'm in London!
I've been walking everywhere with the aid of the Tube. At first it was intimidating, until I noticed it looked very similar to the Japan rail system. And if I could figure that out...
I get the impression that San Francisco is the only big city that needs an extensive public transit system, but refuses to adopt one.
For a bustling city, London has strange restrictions to nighttime entertainment. Not only does it have a midnight last call, but I can't seem to find any late night places to hang. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough...
And the prices. I keep reading everything in American dollars, so everything LOOKS reasonable, until I remember the pound to dollar exchange rate is nearly 1 to 1.5 or 2. Are the numbers right? It's more expensive. Too tired to do math.
And I keep ordering coffee, where I get "black coffee", which is espresso with hot water (otherwise known as an Americano). Seems like there isn't the filtered coffee that we USA'ians know and love.
And last, but not least, I ocassionally forget to order "still" water (which is water water), and I end up with mineral water.
Well, enough whining, time to collapse on the couch!
