I'm Mr. Sok Mao, a life-long Siem Reap resident with a lot of experience helping tourists. I can be your driver and "fixer," at your side for your whole trip. My $25/day fee includes an air conditioned car. That is for the whole day, including a ride home after you finish dinner. I can also provide a van or bus for larger tour groups. I can probably save you money by negotiating on your behalf at Hotels.

I'll pick you up at the airport, bus station or your guest house. Just let me know by mobile phone or email.

Because I know everyone in town, I can get you the best price. I know all of the restaurants and entertainment spots, and can help you put together an ideal itinerary that takes into account your budget and time.

For meals, I can recommend anything from a modest peasant dinner at restaurant only locals eat at, to a French-run Cambodian restaurant, to an extravagant local-run tourist buffet featuring local traditional Cambodian dancers and musicians. If you like, I can arrange a typical meal at a Cambodian home or show you around a peasant's working farm.

I've lived in Siem Reap my whole life and shown enough visitors around that I can help you find just what you are looking for.

I can drive you to all of the temples around town in an air conditioned new Toyota, from the most important ones to those off the beaten track.

I offer individual and group package tours as well. For larger groups, I can rent a van or bus.

I'm also arrange bus & boat tickets to your next destination.

My rates are very reasonable.

It gets very hot in the jungle... You may appreciate getting into an air conditioned car. I'll be with you the whole time, in case you want to go into town for a meal or a shower.

Here are my rates:

Four-seat air-conditioned car: US$25/day

12-seat van: US$30/day

25-seat bus: US$60/day

35-seat bus: US$75/day
These rates are for a 10 hour day. It is an additional $5 be picked up to see the sun rise over the ruins. You must also pay a $5 "transfer fee" for getting picked up at the airport, $10 for the larger vehicles. Please not that visiting the Beanteay Srei ruin will be an extra $10, if you choose to see it. Also, please note that in Siem Reap, only licenced, uniformed "guides" can escort you through the ruins and explain things. Guides do not drive tourists around. I can help you find a guide; they charge $20 a day. I will get in trouble with the authorities if I try to do both jobs myself. I can also help you buy an excellent walking tour guide with photographs for $3 that will explain the ruins.

Because I've been doing this for a while, I can anticipate some of the things you might enjoy that aren't listed in the guidebooks.

Here is a sample one-day itinerary:

Angkor Thom:
Visit South gate of Angkor Thom, see Bayon Temple, Baphoun, Pheamean Ahkash, Elephant Terrace and Liperking Terrace. Eat lunch front of Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat:
Tour until the end of day.

Call or email me before you get into town, and I'll be waiting at the station or airport to make sure your visit goes smoothly and without any hassles. I'll drop you off when it's time to go, and can help you arrange passage to your next destination.
