| John Beasley graduated from Harvard College in 1964 and received his MD from the University of Minnesota in 1969. Following a rotating internship, he practiced for three years, including experience in the Peace Corps in the Caroline Islands. He returned in 1973 to the University of Wisconsin, where he completed two years of family practice residency before becoming a faculty member. His special clinical interests include stress electrocardiography and aviation medicine. He was one of the co-developers, along with Jim Damos, MD, of the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) course. He is currently the director of the International Federation of Primary Care Research Networks. He served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Medical Society and chaired the Society's Council on Medical Education. He is chair of the International Federation of Primary Care Research Networks. His research interests include quality of work life, medical errors, and complexity in
Primary Care Practice.
John W Beasley sees patients in the hospital and a teaching clinic and teaches for a total of about 7 half-day sessions a week. He likes people to know that he is still a "real" doctor. |
