| We are providing Family Planning Services in collaboration with Punjab government since 1987.The following services are available at this clinic;
1) Emergency Family Planning Facility 2) Regular Family Planning Facility In regular family planning services, we offer; 1) Oral medications to be taken daily on monthly basis. 2) Injectables, to be repeated every two months or three months. 3) IUD insertion 4) Condoms Despite so much efforts put together by government and NGOs ,there are not much encouraging results in Family Planning sector. Some of obvious reasons are; 1) Poverty: Male child is considered an asset here because he can help family as soon as he is 10 or 12.I know people who have now more than a dozen daughters in desire of a son. 2) Ignorance: Education rate is very low in Pakistan .Even educated people do not understand menstrual cycle and right ways to use family planning methods. 3) Misconception: Most of our clients do not like available methods of family planning. They are fascinated by some fraud drugs available in market who claim to be effective for one to five years when taken once or twice orally. To address the problem of family planning, I recommend the following direct and indirect actions; Direct Actions: -Every young girl and boy in teens must know what is family planning and STDs. -Every married man and woman must understand menstrual cycle. -Every married man and woman must know Emergency Family Planning -Every married man and woman must understand what are the right ways of family planning and which method is suitable for them. -Every married man and woman must clearly understand advantages and side effects of their selected method of family planning. Indirect Actions: -Regarding female and male child absolutely equal by parents and family. -Equal rights to man and woman. -Increased educational and financial opportunities to females. -Elimination of child labour. |

| Constraints in family planning services
a) Women do not understand the importance of timing in menstrual cycle b) They have a lot of misbelieves regarding medicines c) Men and women do not have sex knowledge We are training men & boys and women & girls in family planning .We have made various groups. Each group consists of five boys or five men or five girls or five women of same age group. Each group has its own leader. We train group leaders who in turn train their group members. We hold tests to assess the training and the knowledge induced. |
