My Truck1970 Ford F100
Custom Series
I too am rebuilding my truck. Here is a picture of my Ford F100, its a 1970, it does not  look too bad in the picture. I originally bought it from my nephew while I was living in Washington. Moving to Texas I brought it with us. I later sold it to a friend with the understanding that I would have the first choice in buying it back if he ever wanted to sell it. which he did, and I did. When I sold it I did not have the money, time, or the know how to fix it up properly. Now with my husbands help I can do just that. I am going to attempt to show you step by step what I am doing. You do need to remember one thing, before I can do something I first have to learn what to do and then how to do it. So my progress will be slow.
In this next set of pictures I am showing the front of the truck. This is where I am going to start. In order to remove the engine I am removing the entire front assembly.
If you look very close at this picture you can see just  a small bit of my husband's 52. This is the front assembly removed. The second picture is just the inside.
Removing the bonnet
In this picture you can see the extensive damage to the battery well. Here I will have to learn how to work with sheet metal.
Everything removed
See the yellow door hinge? This was a replacement part we got off a 68' that I have not told you about yet. Now the door closes properly and does not sag.
Its hard to see but this picture shows the cracks in the windshield, also the dent in the top. My other nephew put this one here backing too close to the garage at my sister's house.
The hinge gives it away, but this is inside the front assembly.
We found a neighbor who had an 68' just sitting in their back yard collecting bugs and weeds. (Not too much dust here we have sand) We bought it for $300.00 and proseeded to pull off parts for my truck. I forgot to get a picture of it before we started stripping it out. A list of parts we harvested are; Engine, Transmission, windshield, door hinge, steering column and entire assembly, drive shaft, engine mounts, windshield chrome trim, seat, (we later traded for a seat for the 52'), speedometer and guage assembly, ( guages are better then idlot lights), and chrome items to replace the black item from my truck.
Old engine, turned over at least 3 times that I know of. It just gave out. Gee I wonder why! lol
This is the engine we got out of the 68'. I plan on rebuilding it before I place into the 70'.
Ok everybody I have some really bad news. I have had to give up on rebuilding my truck. The reason for this is after tearing it all apart as shown above, we found such damage that it was not feasible too continue. The cab mounts had rotted beyound repair. I would have had to replace the entire cab. I just could not get rid of the cab and keep the rest of the truck. This truck had belong to my sister, later sold to my nephew, and finally sold to me. I sold the truck once and bought it back. A lot of family history was in that truck and my heart was broken that I could not continue with the repairs. The area in which I live was on our case because of the trucks in our back yard. We had to make a cleaning.
