Born in 1925 in Xiang Xiang, Hunan Province, shifu Wang Jie studied Yue Jia Quan from his father and then Tai Ji Quan under shifu Xu Zhen Sheng.
Shifu Wang Jie was member of the "Da Dao" squadron and fought guerrilla against the Japanese occupation. He moved to Taiwan in 1958 and studied Ba Bu Tang Lang Quan under shifu Wei Xiao Tang for nearly 30 years, seeing him on a daily basis in the Botanical Gardens Park and shifu Wei Xiao Tang's home. He has learnt the complete Ba Bu Tang Lang Quan system, and also studied under other masters, Bie Her Chuan, Shuai Jiao, Qin Na and other styles.
A picture of shifu Wang Jie can be seen in shifu Wei Xiao Tang's green book. Shifu Wang Jie was in the Banking Business for over 20 years and has also taught the Taiwanese army, instructing them on combat fighting and qin na for over ten years and taught in many Universities in Taipei county, Taiwan.
Shifu Wang Jie still lives in Taipei and can be found practicing and teaching in Shin Long Gong Yuan, Taipei City everyday from 7 AM till 10:30 AM or later. Shifu Wang Jie doesn't call himself master or shifu, he simply says, "I am still a student practicing."
