After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1977 to 1980, shifu Tim Pugh moved to Taiwan, where he trained under Shifu Gao Dao Sheng from 1981 to 1984.
After returning to the USA shifu Pugh reenlisted and served another 4 years with the marines until 1988, at which time he returned to college and earned a degree as Doctor of Chirorpractic.
Shifu Pugh taught Changquan Tanglang in Okinawa, Japan, where he conducted classes at Kadena Air Base from 1986-1987; and in Eldridge, Iowa, where he taught at Cornerstone Baptist Church in the early 1990's.
Shifu Tim Pugh currently resides in Buford, Georgia, where he established a chiropractic practice in 2003. In 2005 he started training under shifu Sun De Yao (Tai Ji Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan).
