Shifu John C. Loupos started his training under shifu Chan Poi in 1978. In 1979, shifu Chan Poi invited shifu John Loupos to convert his existing school over to become the first Wah Lum branch facility.
In 1989 shifu John Loupos was assigned the position of Senior Instructor in the Hua Lin Tang Lang Quan system.
In the mid '90s shifu John Loupos separated of the shifu Chan Poi's association and he no longer is affiliated with the Wah Lum association.
Shifu John Loupos' school is called "Jade Forest Kung Fu" and is located in Cohasett (Massachussets, USA).
