Shifu Bob Rosen is a long time student of shifu Chan Poi, he was the first American instructor to operate a school in Boston's Chinatown and he has been a disciple of shifu Chan Poi since 1976.
Sifu Rosen became certified instructor in 1979 and moved to Florida to promote the Hua Lin Tang Lang Quan system in the south of the USA and to participate in the making of the Wah Lum Temple in Orlando.
In 1986 he traveled to China on a demonstration and training tour, and witnessed shifu Chan Poi's Shaolin disciple ceremony. In 1989 he returned to China and was a member of the first non-Asian group to study gong-fu at the Shaolin Temple.
In addition to establishing himself as a traditional instructor in Hua Lin Tang Lang Quan, shifu Bob Rosen studied the arts of Iron Palm, Lion Dancing and Chen Style Tai Ji Quan from shifu Chan Poi.
Currently he is one of the main instructors in the New England area (USA). Although he does not live in Boston, shifu Rosen teaches in a guan in Boston Chinatown because shifu Chan Poi wants to keep a presence in Chinatown.
