On the Stealthlon, Blackbird was standing behind Ordese, looking at the battle on a tactical display.  Cain, being more practical, was looking at it projected on the main viewer.

Were losing ships fast, Blackbird, Cain commented, watching each little representation of UNSF ships disappear. Maybe we should consider--

Spatial phenomenon, fifteen hundred kilometers off the port bow! Commander Lisa Hayes announced.  It appears to be a wormhole, but its deteriorating rapidly.  Sir... she turned in her chair slowly to look at Blackbird.  Its the Explorer.

The Explorer had come to save the day.

Shields up! called Commander Vaughn.  Target the closest Imperial ship and commence firing!

The Explorer, coming out of one battle and into another, immediately raised their shields and opened fire on the ISS Black Ice.  Within seconds, it was destroyed, a floating collection of space debris.

Captain, Captain Vaughn is hailing us, reported Lieutenant Hardy.

On speakers.

Mansel! came the starship commanders voice.  How nice of you to drop in on us!

The pleasure is all yours, Vaughn, said Mansel with a grin, glad to be back in his own time and place where he belonged.

Fall back and regroup! called Admiral Blackbird.  Fighters, cruisers, then carriers!
Commander Jim Blackwood, leading the 431st Skylords, flew next to Commander Taylor.  Ready, Taylor?

Taylors response was immediate.  As always.

Lets show these Imps what were made of.

On the bridge of the 4th Fleets flagship, the Stealthlon, Admiral Blackbird issued one single command: Attack.
