BEYOND THE IMAGE
He skates off down the street
The whole world at his feet
Although he has this broken heart
At least he still looks the part
He looks so happy as he rolls along the path
But all they see of him is half
They can't see what's inside
His emotions he will always hide
They see him standing full of pride
They're proud to be right by his side
For what he is, is what they need
But they fail to see his heart recede
He spins and turns and gives a smile
Inside he still feels so hostile
But no-one looks past his smiling face
Inside, the happiness has been erased
People only want to see him skate along
Like that's the only place he can belong
They fell in love with that image of his
They don't care about who he really is
