A fluffed up pillow soaked in a single tear

A wire stranded on the floor connected to the phone
The deafening sound of a doorbell kept alarming
Yet I lay still and silent, reluctant to break
My patience was like an ice cube wearing thin
I stayed in the corner until I turned to a tearful lake
Out of contact, my tears continue to flow a waterfall
My last few dying gasps were only to be heard by me
I carved into my wrist and released the world
The blood trickled into a portrait that only I could see
It showed a thousand dying children crying out in hurt
People crying in misery when they were not to blame
