He has served as Science Correspondent and subsequently as Assistant Editor of Vigyan Pragati- a popular science monthly in Hindi, Senior Editorial Assistant of Bharat Ki Sampada-a 10 part science encyclopaedia of natural products of India, and Editor of Vigyan Pravah-a popular science monthly. Prior to joining Vigyan Pragati as Assistant Editor in 1984, he started Vigyanpuri- a popular science quarterly, of which, he has been the editor, printer and publisher, etc. He joined the National Council for Science & Technology Communication in 1991 and undertaken a number of projects/ programmes on communication of science and inculcation of scientific temper among masses. He earned his M.Sc. in Zoology (Environmental Biology), M.Sc. (Tech.) in S&T Communication, Ph.D. in Science Communication, Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism, and M.B.A. in Human Resource Development. His major contributions included, three books on science journalism and science communication, hundreds of popular science articles in newspapers/ magazines, hundreds of TV/Radio programmes on science, environment, and agriculture, etc. He has also delivered a number of popular science lectures, performed plays, written scripts, and demonstrated scientific phenomenon behind so-called miracles, such as explaination of Milk Miracle (Ganesha drinking milk) in 1995. He is the Editor of NCSTC Communications- a bilingual (Hindi and English)monthly newsletter and Indian Journal of Science Communication (IJSC)- a half yearly international research journal. He has served the Indian Science Writers' Association (ISWA)- a professional body of science writers/ journalists/ communicators of India, as Honorary Secretary for two terms (1999-2001 and 2001-2003). Apart from his science communication activities, he has two Indian patents to his credit. He has won top Indira Gandhi National Award of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for his book on science journalism in 1991. He has been honoured by Bhartendu Harishchandra National Award for his writings on mass communication in 1992 by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India. He is also a reciepient of prestigious B.C. Deb Memorial National Award for Popularisation of Science presented to him by the Indian Science Congress Association in 2000. He has travelled extensively across the country and has visited various developed and developing countries. Centre for Global Studies, C/o NASA, USA has honoured him recently by its International Annual Award for Global Advancement of Science Communication & Popularization.
