I know, I know. Wow...too much time has slipped by.
A LOT has happened lately, so let's get right down to it, shall we?
First, let me start off by saying I am currently doing well, although I could be better, but I can be worse. I have been doing an excellent job on my diet this past week, and feel that at this rate, I shall lose weight soon enough. I have been drinking water non-stop all day every day for the past week. Even during meal times and anywhere I go, I have that trusty bottle by my side filled with water. Yes, I have to go every 5 minutes, and wake up in the middle of the night as well, but I can definately tell a difference in how I feel. Granted a week isn't really long enough to make any sort of difference, and even though these things are minute, I know my own body well enough I can tell such small differences. Not really energy wise, or physical wise, but I can tell the water is doing a lot of good, especially when it comes to my digestive track.
Anywho, onto the bigger stuff. I just got back this past weekend from a 4-day trip to Tennessee, it was grand! I loved it, and loved spending some quality time with my friends. The trip started out well enough, with a great roadtrip filled with fellowship and nonsense and tom-foolery, hehe. Upon our arrival, there was a noticeable temperature difference of 50+ degrees (and this was toward evening when we arrived, whereas in Michigan it would already have been 20 or lower). The next day was filled with a lot of walking, climbing, and hiking through the mountains and through Mammoth Caves (yes, many pics were taken). Matt got bit by the "pet bulldog" and we made an exciting detour to the local hospital, haha. He had to get rabies shots, and somehow the nurses got his name mixed up and when they came out to call him in the waiting room, they were asking for "Michael Moore"...HA! Regardless to say, many southerners don't take kindly to Mr. Moore and were looking around frantically for this "non-existent famous figure." The wound was patched up and we went about our business. We travelled to Nashville, went inside the large Grand Ole Opry Hotel, and toured the nearby Opry Mills (a large Mall)...very nice indeed. In the mall, we ate inside a huge "undersea-themed" restaurant...which was a giant Aquarium in which you ate next to giant sharks, odd looking tropical fish, sting rays, etc. Afterwards, we came back (all the day temps were in the mid 60's) and sat in reminiscence of earlier days gone by. The following day was filled with hiking about the wooded mountains, and then off to explore Mammoth Caves, which I have to recommend to anyone who isn't claustrophobic. Later we ate at the Cracker Barrel...also nice. It was a great day. The final day was church services (which I also thoroughly enjoyed) and a lovely meal and our goodbyes. The trip home was rather depressing (when we left Tennessee early in the afternoon it was near 70 and sunny, and upon arriving at Michigan, snow and 20 degree weather). All in all, it was fun, and my friends and I had a great time. My pictures have been developed and for the most part turned out rather nice.
Sounds like I've had a lot going lately, eh? There's more...
In about a month (maybe less) I shall be moving out onto my own (well, sort of, with friends).
A friend of mine took out a large loan and has bought a house (actually only 5 minutes away from my current house, not too shabby if I get hungry and want a home cooked meal, hehe). Me and another friends in turn will be moving into this three bedroom house and paying rent, and I'm hoping we don't kill each other in the progress, ha. We will be getting cable internet soon enough when we move out/in, so if I don't update this for awhile (as opposed to now I suppose, haha) then that's why. I have taken a visual inventory of my things and am compiling a rough draft list of things to take with me...I find this to be exciting, but I also find it a little hard/nervous...which is natural I believe. Not to mention if worse comes to worse (which I pray it doesn't) my parents have already said I'd be more than welcome to come home (they are advocates of my not moving out, of course).
If you'd like to take a look at the house and most of it's features, here's a picture of it on realtor.com.
EDIT: Looks like the page is no longer up...sorry :-(
And that pretty much sums up what's been going on this month. Not much has changed in the way of work, or any aspect of my social life. I will be attending college again this spring semester in May...it'll be nice to get back to having homework and such, I know that sounds preposterous, but if you worked at a job where you do nothing for 8-12 hours but read, and then come home to pretty much the same the rest of the week, and nowhere else to go for fun or recreation, you'd miss school too.
Well, that was a nice long entry...and hopefully it won't be too long before I update again.
Until then, I'm out. Later :-). |
