BIOGRAPHY
Mannaz was thought of by Michael Eijk at the beginning of 2004, when he approached singer/guitarist Wilmar Taal to form a new death metal band. This band became Mannaz.
Mannaz started rehearsing and recording as a duo. Songs like 'Mannaz', 'Chemtrailed to Oblivion' and 'There's no God' were written, rehearsed and recorded, but the first time Mannaz ever walked into the studio, was to record the Celtic Frost song 'Dethroned Emperor' for the Homage to Celtic Frost, a tribute to Frost on their own website, by their fans. This Homage still has to come online.
In the meanwhile Eijk and Taal still searched for other members, but none came to pass. Wilmar also had a solo-project called Triplesix, which made very ambient music, and the duo decided to get along with Triplesix in the future and to leave Mannaz as a project. New songs were recorded, but not in such a hastily tempo.
In April 2004 Triplesix first rehearsed with a new guitarist, Marc Luttik and in May drummer Jolanda Koning joined the band and Mike switched to guitar, while wielding the drums in Mannaz. Two more songs were recorded and Arno van Goor, bassist of Icaros, decided to play bass in Mannaz for an upcoming gig on september 25 in De Kade, Zaandam.
Mannaz is now working on the completion of the first album called 'Chainsaw, flesh and the huge amount of blood'.
