It's picture time. As opening night (September 8th) draws closer and we continue to construct the sets the cast of "South Pacific" sets aside some time to start working on publicity.

Here we see Justin Nicholson who plays Lt. Cable with Hanh Tran who plays Liat. As Marc Glover, the director, puts them into position...What is Justin looking at?

Here are our lead actor and actress are being put into place by Marc Glover, the director. Portraying Emile deBeque is Jeff Colletta and our Nellie Forbush is portrayed by Amanda Bankey.

With all the attention shown the lead actors it's hard not to forget the ones who have the hardest job...the younger cast members. In the first picture with Alexia Nino (portraying Henriette), here are our lead children showing off her smile, on the far right, is Lauren Hopf who plays the young Ngana, Emile deBeque's daughter. To the left is the always intelligent Michael Simonds playing Jerome, Emile deBeque's son. Of course Clear Creek Country Theatre wants to show that Theater does not neglect the educational needs of it's younger actors, so during the breaks, Michael is off doing his studies with some other younger cast members, which include even his real life sisters. Pictured with Selena Simonds who plays Nani, one of Bloody Mary's assistants.

What cast of "South Pacific" would be complete without Bloody Mary. Portraying the shrewd Tonkinese businesswoman in this production is Simone Williams...seen here with Hanh Tran who plays Liat, Bloody Mary's daughter, as well as with the seabees (From L-R Lyman Hall, Chris Mayo, Robert Simonds).

Finally we show Robert Simonds who portrays the self appointed leader of the seabees Luther Billis as well as the youngest of the seabees, Aaron Leteff, who portrays Johnson. See ya next time.

Opening night (September 8th) gets ever closer and we continue to construct the sets for "South Pacific," so I've taken a little time to capture some of the cast members hard at work.

Looks like I've come up to Hanh Tran who plays Liat. She's very hard at work painting a few boxes to look like crates. Amanda Bankey looks suprised to be looking at a camera...I guess I'll just have to get back to her later when she doesn't have a brush in her hand.

Moving on. I find Justin Nicholson who plays Lt. Cable working hard on getting the right measurments on a piece of wood. Wait a minute...why does Mark Connelly(our newest seabee) have his ears covered? Oh, its because Chris (Stewpot) is using the skill saw to slice that 'flat' (theatre term for fake wall).

With all the noise from the skill saw I've decided to go back to see how Hanh is doing. Is the box being painted up and down or side to side? She's just about to tell me when she and Simone Williams who plays Bloody Mary are called over to see what's being put together for them in the show.

Hanh, Simone, and Justin stand by while Marc Glover, the director, with his crew debate and make the mesurements for Bloody Mary's hutt. In the closer picture you don't see what they're looking at, but measurements are being made based on how tall the actors are. It's still going to be a little short, but it's only going to be a part of the hutt anyway.

Finally we finish off with a good cleaning of the set. Leading the pack was Alexia Nino, who portrays Henriette, showing us the proper use of a broom and dustpan. What set construction is complete without the youngest of the seabees, Aaron Leteff, who portrays Johnson showing us what he's been doing all this time...using his sidearm jigsaw. See ya next time.

Just a little more than 3 weeks till opening night (September 8th) and we continue our hard work for "South Pacific," so today we start to notice a few things at the theatre.

Oh, man the pressure is on. They've already got the sign...there's no turning back. The show, as they say, must go on.

As I go inside I see Khrystian Cunningham, our choreographer, working with our young deBeque children Ngana and Jerome, played by Lauren Hopf and Michael Simonds. At first it seems like she's got them set to tackle each other, but after a while Khrystian's got them dancing and singing to "Dite Moi". This is too cute...time to move on.

After some gruling work with the nurses and seabees (no pictures, unfortunately) it was time to start working more with the lead actor and actress. For a while it almost seemed that Jeff Colletta who plays Emile deBeque was out to prove that Ballroom Dance was a lost art. Thankfully Khrystian helped out when she did. Amanda Bankey who portray's Nellie Forbush in this production watched as Khrystian helped Jeff out with his leading skills.

There seems to be a bit of confusion about which direction Jeff needs to lead Amanda, and a discussion ensues. After many attempts and seeking help from Marc Glover, the director, something needs to be fixed.

Perhaps there needs to be a change. Marc suggests something, but I can't hear what he's saying. The next time we see Amanda she's come back in a hoop skirt.

Maybe the change did the trick. Except it didn't fix the confusion over direction, so once again Khrystian, our choreographer, steps up to show the actors what to do.

Now that looks a whole lot better. It's pretty hard work to create an entertaining show, but I believe we're up to the challenge. ...What are Aaron (Johnson) and Chris (Stewpot) talking about?

A U G U S T  1 9 T H  2 0 0 6

Day by day we come closer to opening night (September 8th) and the construction keeps going for "South Pacific," so today we get back on track with building the sets.

Today Aaron Leteff who plays Johnson was showing us how to build the perfect box for your onstage hiding needs. First you cut the wood...for this you use the skill saw. Remember...safety first...always wear your safety glasses. Chris (stewpot) holds the board to be cut. There are times when you need noise protection...especially in close spaces. Hanh Tran who plays Liat demonstrates how to protect your ears.

The next step as Aaron explains is to attach the board. Mark Connelly who plays Bob McCaffrey shows us what tools we are going to need...a battery operated screw drill and some wood finishing screws. The board is attached as seen here.

Aaron seems satisfied with the crew's progress so far. Just one more side to attach then we paint, so I'll leave them to it as we go out to see what's going on in the 'house'. Marc Glover our tireless director is explaining the next step to transform the theater into a "South Pacific" setting. Assembled here are Simone Williams who plays Bloody Mary with Lauren Davis and Meredith Candler. Their task is to add strings to some long rectangular pieces of foam painted tropical green.

After the backing is attached by Justin Nicholson, who plays Lt. Cable, the pieces can be raised. It's a pretty long way up to the top, and Justin shows us how it's done. When we're finished Marc, our director, shows us something else that needs to be done to complete the task as he points it out to our technical director, Dario Failla.

As the crew is hard at work finishing up attaching the green backing for the setting it's time to rejoin Aaron in the construction of the box. As we see here the side has already been attached, and Amanda Bankey, our Nellie Forbush, is attaching masking tape to the cracks to smooth out the box before it's painted.

When painting the box, Amanda demonstrates, it's easier to paint from right to left. Always have your paint in a convenient spot as you will be using it on a regular basis. If your right hand gets tired you can always paint with your left hand. The important thing is always to remember your comfort is key.

If you grow tired and you have a deadline, always include other members of the cast when painting your box. Stacy Kelly demonstrates painting using the buddy-system. When the painting is completed allow for some time for the paint to dry. And that my friends...as Aaron explains, is how you make the perfect box...peace, out.

Hard work continues as we come closer to opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific." Today was a pretty long day full of working on the smallest details.

Amanda Bankey who plays Nellie and our stage managers continue to work on the fine details of cutting foam in the shape of palm leaves. When finished, the set for "South Pacific" and even the theater itself will be quite a site.

Marc Glover our director, and hardest working person in the show, takes a much needed break to gather his thoughts as Hanh Tran, who plays Liat, shows us the detail that she's adding to the box to make it look like a wooden crate. It's coming along nicely. Things are working themselves into a routine as people are finding things to do.

Not a piece of wood is wasted. As a show closes the set is torn down, and all the pieces that can be salvaged are stored for later use. Chris Mayo, who plays Stewpot, shows us how to remove a pesky screw that's been left behind from one of the previous shows. Why does water meander?

As the day progresses, Jeff Colletta, who plays Emile deBeque in our production, lightens up the mood during the set construction by showing us some clever uses for the plastic backing on the foam as well as making suggestions for the native costumes in the show.

"Put that down, it needs to be painted". And so the pieces of foam are transformed into the leaves of palm trees. All it takes is a little green paint. In the scene shop members of the cast and crew are hard at work completing some of the fine detailing on the larger set pieces. Keeping things cooler is Lyman Hall who plays Professor, the more knowledgeable of the seabees. Good work pluggin in that fan.

Well there you have it. Another day in the life of this production of "South Pacific". It's not always fun and games, but the work being put into this production makes it all worthwhile.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" grows closer each day. Today was an interesting day all round. Most of the fine tuning for the show took place today as well as a few suprises.

Arriving on time for rehearsal is something that has been weighing heavy on this cast, so a little bit of initiative on our part is finally paying off. For once...this is the first time that a majority of the cast arrived before the director. There's a problem with arriving too early though...sometimes you'll get there and the door will be locked.

Finally getting inside, Aaron Leteff ,our youngest seabee, Johnson, whips out the guitar Chris Mayo, Stewpot, brought to start working on a new song. Marc Glover, our director, works some things out with the music for today's rehearsal. After a little checking of the scripts our cast is ready to rehearse.

Jeff Colletta, our Emile deBeque, lets it all out to "This Nearly Was Mine." As that's going on, Hanh Tran, our Liat, tries on some costume choices for the director. The green dress is a good choice for Hanh. It brings out her eyes. As all this is going on Amanda Bankey, our Nellie Forbush, is working out some of the high notes on "I'm A Cock-eyed Optimist". Sounding good...keep it up.

In another room some of the newer cast members work out some of thier blocking. Later they move it to the stage. I'll leave them to it. They have enough on their minds without a camera around to distract them. After the major part of the musical rehearsal was finished, Khrystian cunningham, our choreographer, took a few of us in to work on the dances. Aaron Leteff stands guard at the door.

Khrystian demonstrates to Hanh a particular move that she wants to incorporate into her dance with Justin Nicholson (Lt. Cable). What's a better way to do your homework then watching a little dance rehearsal...which is what a couple our younger cast members are doing. (from L-R Selena Simonds, who plays Nani(Beautiful) and Nicole Simonds, who plays Ulani(Cheerful).)

Justin's finally getting the hang of it. He leads Hanh into a spin while Simone Williams (Bloody Mary) sings "Happy Talk". Justin is asking a question about how he should be at the end, and Khristian gives them a few pointers. Hanh, Justin, and Simone have got things in hand and are working out some of the final movements, so its time to move on to see what's happening right outside the door.

Amanda Bankey has a little time to rest her voice while Cindy Forsyth puts the pins in her Nurse costume. Amanda Forsyth, who plays Connie (one of the Nurses), is having a little chat with our Nellie. Not too much to go on, so I'll add my own words. Amanda Bankey:"Would you be a dear and get me the doughnut with sprinkles?" Amanda Forsyth:"Could you get me a double late?" Aaron Leteff:"What do I look like your 'cabana boy'? Aaron walks off...Amanda Forsyth: Do you want me to call your mom?

Amanda Bankey: "It's wonderful when you have such star power." Amanda Forsyth: "Riiiight." I'll leave you today with a final image from "Happy Talk." See ya next time.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" grows closer each day. Today we had a little fun before and during today's rehearsal.

We all got a big suprise today as the annual Ballunar Festival was taking place in Nassau Bay. From what I'm told it's one of the largest festivals of it's kind anywhere in the world. It was amazing to see the great number of hot air ballons crossing over the roof of the theatre to Johnson Space Center across the way.

The sight was a great way to start rehearsals. As we all went inside Marc Glover, our director, went about to describe how today's rehearsal will take place. "We must start to wear the shoes that we will be wearing for the show." Which is something that is always very helpful this close to opening night.

We all know that he's just stalling cause Amanda Bankey, our Nellie, is busy trying on a new dress for the show. For some reason this one just wasn't fitting her right, so Marc himself works out some of the adjustments. Marc must have said something funny...Amanda looks happy. Anyway...on to her rehearsal.

Amanda works out some of the nuances of the song "I'm a Cock-eyed Optimist". It's looking really good...she's gonna be great. Who would ever guess that she is just starting out her acting career.

As the girls work out some of the choreography for "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair", we turn to see young Selena Simonds, who plays Ulani (Cheerful), taking some pictures and talking on the phone...who is she talking to? Now theres time for some notes before the girls continue.

Here's some more of the work being done by the 'Nurses' in the play. I'm looking forward to the audience reaction after they land the ending.

We've got to keep these kids interested...they're off now fixing our Musical Director's hair. Time to finish with the kids so they can go home. So we see Michael Simonds (Jerome) and Lauren Hopf (Ngna) working with Amanda Bankey and Jeff Colletta, our Emile deBeque. They've really got their parts down. Lauren especially almost scares us with her professionalism...can we say Hailey Joel Osmet (the early years).

After a few more notes from Marc, the kids are free to go. "Make it bigger!!!" says our director. Now it's time to work on the Cable/Liat aspect of the show with Justin Nicholson and Hanh Tran.

But who can fail to forget the Emile/Nellie part of the show. While working on the finale Jeff takes Amanda into a light-hearted dip. I don't know if she was expecting it at the time, though. Rehearsal can be fun. See ya next time.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is just over the horizon. And with that said, more interesting things went on this day.

For the cast members who weren't at rehearsal yesterday, they got a big suprise today as the annual Ballunar Festival continued to take place today in Nassau Bay. From what I've been told it's one of the largest festivals of it's kind anywhere in the world. It was another amazing sight to see the great number of hot-air ballons crossing over the roof of the theatre again to Johnson Space Center across the way.

After standing around outside discussing the many hot-air balloons, we all went inside for a little pep talk from Marc Glover, our director. The cast members were split in to two groups...those who would be working on more set pieces in the scene shop, and those who remained out in the theatre to paint the set.

Amanda Bankey, our Nellie, was hard at work on the fine detailing of the vines along the back wall, while Simone Williams, our Bloody Mary tried her hand at sneaking a little profile of Mark Connelly, our Bob McCaffery, into the set design. That didn't work out so well, so Mark headed over to discuss something with Amanda. All throughout the construction of the set we've been listening to some great musicals, largely in part due to Mark with his huge collection of the most popular Broadway Musicals of the 20th century. So far I think I've heard "Little Shop Of Horrors", and "Wicked" at least a few times already this day.

Mark keeps going back and forth. First to Amanda, then again to Simone...so I'll just move into the scene shop where I find Robert Simonds (Billis), and Chris Mayo (Stewpot), hard at work on what they're building. Oh, it's the showers for "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair". Looking good guys!!!

When I return to the theater, Amanda has joined our other Amanda, Amanda Forsyth (Connie), in cutting out some leaves from foam. Sometimes work on a set can be a bit tedious, so I decide to help move things along by putting my camera down for a while to help paint some leaves. By the time we all finish there has to be at least 50 or more.

But there's some commotion on stage as the first of the completed showers appears on stage. Marc, our director, has Meredith Candler (Janet) step inside it to see what it's going to look like. "It goes over on that side of the stage", Marc says as he points over to stage Right (Theatre Term). Finally after a few more hours of back-breaking work, with the cast mostly gone for the night, Marc takes a hard look at what's been accomplished, sees what needs to be done, and calls it a night. Another day of set construction behind us.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is almost here. We all know it. The hard work never ceases.

Today we started things out with our younger cast members Michael Simonds and Lauren Hopf who play the young deBeque children. "You need to act more like kids...have fun", says Marc Glover, our director. "Act like kids?"...They ask. Lauren looks over to her mom as if she doesn't know how a kid is supposed to act. hmmmm? I hope they'll figure it out before opening night. It is hard for young professionals.

Next we move on to "Happy Talk," where Khrystian Cunningham, our choreographer, is working with Justin Nicholson (Lt.Cable) and Simone Williams (Bloody Mary) on some of the little characterizations to help sell the piece. There's not much more that needs to be done, and this song will be ready for an audience. The cast enjoys it every time it's performed. Great work guys!!!

Chris Mayo looks on as Marc Connelly works with our actor playing Captain Brackett, on one of the major scenes of the show. While the work continues I sneak a peak backstage in the greenroom where Alexia Nino and Michael Simonds are in a deep character discussion. Comraderie is everywhere, and as far as I can tell there hasn't been any tempers or bad attitudes among the cast members. Quite a pleasant suprise.

Not wanting to get in the way of people going on and off stage, I decide to move out to the lobby where the ladies playing the Nurses in our show are working out some of the problems in the choreography. We lost a cast member not too long ago, so we're trying incorporate new actors into the cast. That means that the remaning cast members are becoming teachers and trying to help the new cast members get up to speed. Here Krystian Cunningham, our choreographer, is working with the Nurses on "Wonderful Guy."

After a complete run through of the second act, Khrystian works with a few of the remaining cast members on some the problems that came up during the dances in the second act. Without any moaning or complaints we step in and help each other to make this the best show we can. It definitely shows.

As Marc Glover gives the cast final notes for this evening, that's all I can mention for today. Check us out later, and find out what new things happen as a production works it's way to opening night.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is getting closer. The hard work being put into this performance is beginning to get a lot of attention from the press.

We started out this evening with a couple of photo shoots for our newest members of the cast. Dario Failla, our technical director, once again makes his changes to our poster with the additions of Captain Brackett Commander Harbison.

As Marc Glover, our director, takes a short break, the younger cast members Michael Simonds (Jerome) and Lauren Hopf (Ngna) work out some of their choreography with Alexia Nino (Poehina).

Jeff Colletta (Emile deBeque) has continued to shine with his portrayal. It took a little while for him to settle down into the role, and watching the process has been very educational.

I only hope that the audience finds the show as exciting as us cast members. Pictured here especially are Hanh Tran (Liat), and Dylan Doyle (Mendez).

Now working onstage are Justin Nicholson and Hanh Tran. The scene between Lt. Cable and Liat is beginning to take shape, and with the added help of costumes...It's going to be a wonderful performance.

While the nurses get thier turn on stage, it's time to visit with some of the other actors in the greenroom. Seen here are Selena Simonds, Michael Simonds, Mark Connelly, and Hanh Tran. As they start to have a friendly chat...Lauren Hopf comes in to show them how she did during one of her moments on the stage. Hanh and Mark are very impressed.

As we've been going along, there's been a little friendly competition between the nurses and the seabees as to who can do their performance better. Maybe the audiences we have throughout the run of the show will be able to finally let us know...Cause, of course, it's the Seabees...(the Nurses disagree).

As we finish today with the nurses, one of our newest seabees Dylan Doyle, and Lauren Hopf...we remember that performing from an actors point of view is about two things...the art and just having fun. We're looking forward to seeing you there. See ya next time.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is 7 days away and counting. Time for a little touching up the set before we continue to rehearse the rest of the week.

Leading the pack of painters was Aprille Meek, one of our stage managers. After the paints are picked out Amanda Forsyth (Connie), appears to be doing a little dance with the paint before she gets to work on what she needs to paint.

Stacy Kelly (sue) is hard at work on her painting project. Amanda and Meredith Candler (Janet) are called to help with the greens project. Here we see them carrying in a couple of palm leaves. I wonder where we're going to place them?

While they go to figure that out I move over to see Hanh Tran (Liat) climbing a ladder to trace out some palm leaves on the massive foam pieces hanging from the stage. I caught a glimpse of Dylan Doyle (Mendez) helping Hanh out. Hanh has gotten the hang of holding her stencil in place while she reaches around to trace the pattern.

Marc Glover, our director, shows off his many skills by demonstrating to Simone Williams (Bloody Mary) and Renea Runnells how he want's the greenery placed around this trellis. Who left these spray cans lying around? Next we see Amanda Forsyth selecting the tropical flowers that will be placed around the set pieces.

After Marc is finished with his demonstration, he goes over to see what the crew members are up to with some of the other set pieces. All this time...the noises coming from the greenroom are discovered to be Cindy Forsyth working on the left-over costume pieces that need to be sewn. I return to the theater to see that the flowers that Amanda selected are now being placed on one of the trellis' that needed decoration.

Looking around I find Alexia Nino (Poehina) up on a ladder painting in some more greenery. The set will be full and abundant with greenery when we're done. Cris Mayo (Stewpot) and Robert Simonds (Bilis) are hard at work on another construction job...as a couple of doors need to be moved. When I look back at Alexia...she is already starting her next project by practicing a little design issues on the back of a wall. Fortunately this part of the wall will not be seen by the audience.

Hanh looks tired. I'm sure she is because she's had to go up and down on the ladder most of the time she's been here. To finish up some of the final work to the greenery on the main trellis is Monique Loren (Geneva). She looks like an old hand at making the artificial plant growth on the trellis look natural. It looks good.

This has been a very busy day. Most of them are going to be as we get closer to opening night. After a few final jokes for the evening, the cast says it's goodbyes. Till tomorrow...see ya next time.

S E P T E M B E R  2 N D  2 0 0 6

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is just 6 days away and counting. Today is what is known at the theatre is "Hell Saturday". It's the day that we start to put things together (performance, lighting, music), and see what needs to be fixed just before opening night.

One of the first things we noticed today was "Where are the lights?". After a little lighting adjustment, we were able to finally see Amanda Forsyth's (Connie) face. She's looking a little like she should be playing, Heather "Hot-Lips" Houlihan, in M.A.S.H., but that's only because the nurses are not in costume for this part of the rehearsal.

Stopping and starting are to be expected so when Marc Glover, our director, shouts "Hold!", we better be able to stop what we're doing, like Jeff Coletta (Emile deBeque) and Cindy Forsyth (Dinah), so lighting can be adjusted. While the current scene is being worked out...I move to the greenroom where I find Hanh Tran (Liat) relaxing while Selena Simonds (Nani) works on the finishing touches to her costume.

Word comes that we must all get into costume and get ready for the full dress rehearsal. Hanh is one of the first to get hers on, so she starts to work on her dance before we start. Alexia Nino (Poehina) is pictured here working on her hair. I need to leave while the rest of the women in the cast get dressed so I go see what's going on the control room. Marc Glover, our director, finishes up with setting up lighting cues, so that our lighting operator only needs to advance from one cue to the next during the performance.

The first scenes are under way, and while we have a chance, the other cast members are hard at work on their choreography. After the first act is complete we have a 15 minute break to setup for the second act. While listening to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", performed by the Andrews Sisters, a couple of our nurses enjoy a light swing dance pictured here are Cindy Forsyth (Dinah) and Renea Runnells. Lauren Hopf (Ngna) looks up from her homework laughing at what the nurses are doing.

The second act is complete, and now it's time to come out into the theatre for notes from the director. "Pacing, pacing, pacing...and line delivery needs to pick-up!!!" ...are commonly the notes we recieve.

Marc over the course of the session gives individual actors notes on how to improve what they're doing. If you don't get a note...then you're doing exactly what he wants. After Marc completes the notes session, Kay Lunn, one of our stage managers, assigns dressing rooms. That's an important part of the process for an actor, cause you need a space to be before every show that's your very own.

Now is the time when all the actors can compliment each other on a job well done. Every show has it's ups and downs, and as long as we give it our all, then the audience will get the very best of what we have to offer. See ya next time.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is almost here...just 3 more days away and counting. Everyone is brimming with anticipation. What's coming for us during the run of the show?

Most of the female cast members flock to the front door to see what's going on outside while the rest of the cast works hard to put on costume and makeup. We are trying to establish our routines backstage so everything the audience sees onstage will be seamless. Here Hanh Tran (Liat) is applying the last of her makeup.

After finishing, Hanh is seen having a discussion with Chris Mayo (Stewpot) til she's needed on stage. Onstage...Jeff Coletta is singing "Some Enchanted Evening" while Robert Meek (Lt.Buzz Adams) and Aprille Meek (stage manager) make sure the props are set for the next scene.

Alexia Nino (Poehina) awaits her next entrance with Kay Lunn (stage manager). Here we see Lauren Hopf (Ngana) quietly awaiting her turn. Next we move on to the nurses singing "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair".

Dylan Doyle (sailor) knows he's being photographed while Aaron Leteff (Johnson) does not. He's between two of our nurses Amanda Forsyth to the left and Stacey Kelley to the right. Next we see Gregory Brown (Capt. Brackett) with Stephen Burton (Harbison) lurking in the background.

At intermission Amanda Forsyth waits patiently for the start of Act 2. Jeff Coletta fixes his costume for the next act. After the show we all return to the house (where the audience sits) to get our notes for the evening. Alexia Nino (Poehina) is sitting patiently awaiting any notes that she may receive.

Here we see Robert Simonds (Billis) with Amanda Bankey in the foreground. Dario Failla (Technical Director) and Kay Lunn (stage manager) address any technical issues that arose from this dress rehearsal while Marc Glover, our director, finishes out the few notes that he has in his pad. We're doing a great job, and we're almost ready for the audience.

Opening night (September 8th) for "South Pacific" is almost here...just 2 more days. Nervousness is just setting in. What will the audience enjoy? How far can some of the jokes go? How good is my makeup? A lot of final questions are asked and aswered as we prepare for our last couple of rehearsals.

This cast has become close as a family as our opening night approaches. Here we see Gregory Brown (Capt. Brackett) showing us his other skills by applying Renea Runnels (Bessie) makeup. What is Amanda Bankey (Nellie) telling Chris Mayo (Stewpot)? Alexia Nino listens in. Proving how dedicated a director he is Marc Gloverpersonally applys the finishing touches to some of the cast members makeups before the curtain rises. Here he is applying Robert Simonds (Billis) makeup.

Here Marc Gloverfinishes off Lauren Hopf's (Ngana) makeup before she makes her entrance. She's got to look her cutest...she starts out our show. Here we see Hanh Tran (Liat), Stacey Kelley (Sue), and Selena Simonds (Nani) crowded around Stacey's gadget. Dylan Doyle (Sailor) is preparing to make his entrance backstage.

Some final adjustments are being made to Justin Nicholson's (Lt.Joe Cable) microphone before he goes on stage. Here's a little snippet from the 'Brackett's Office Scene' from backstage. Come see the show and you'll get a better view.

Here we catch Karen Rush (props) in one of her least busy moments. Stephen Burton (Harbison) is rather cheerful. Gregory Brown is going over his lines. Just one more rehearsal and everything must be perfect.

The nurses have naturally flocked together during the rehearsals...could it be the uniforms? Here we see Amanda Forsyth, and Meredith Candler. Justin Nicholson applies his 'sick' makeup (during the course of the show Lt. Cable gets Malaria). Another rehearsal under our belt, and still some final technical issues to be resolved by our stage managers under the supervision of Dario Failla, our Technical Director.

Marc Glover, our director seems to be drained this day. A lot of sleepless nights. Some notes are given to some of our supporting cast. Here we see Dylan Doyle. And over here we see Alexia Nino with Hanh Tran.

As Chris Mayo (Stewpot) and Aaron Leteff (Johnson) share one final laugh together...we all head home for some much needed rest. Just one more day and then it's opening night.

Opening night for "South Pacific" is here!!! Two and a half more hours, and we'll finally know whether or not all the hard work has payed off. Anyone nervous?...I am. This is my last set of pictures until Saturday, September 30th.

As you can see, we're all trying our best to get prepared for our opening night audience. Amanda Forsyth is getting her hair done for the occasion. Some of the other cast members are resolving a lot of the hair issues. Here Monique Loren (Geneva) is helping out Selena Simonds (Nani) with the frizzys. I turn my attention to Michael Simonds (Jerome) and Alexia Nino (Poehina) going over some final makeup preparations.

Amanda Bankey is in a good mood today, and her hair is looking fabulous. Over to the side Dylan Doyle and Robert Meek are in a discussion. Marc Glover, our director, ever present, continues to put makeup on the younger cast members. Seen here with Nicole Simonds (Ulani).

Once completed with her makeup Nicole Simonds has a seat with Amanda Forsyth and discusses some of the things that have been going on in her day. Here we see Lauren Hopf coming into the green room to prepare for the show. Alexia Nino is applying some of her last minute makeup.

Lauren Hopf has always been a delight. She and the rest of the younger female cast members have formed a bond that I hope for their sake will continue. They have been getting along rather well, and I hope this has all been a wonderful experience for them. Finally Marc Glover shares a few kind words with Jeff Coletta before the curtain opens. Here we go!!!
