Things are getting under way. A new cast of characters, and a great show...what could anyone ask for?

The first thing that greets you at The company Onstage is the big sign on the side of the front building...you have to follow the arrow into the courtyard to find the entrance of the theatre. It's a quaint brick structure...looks like you're entering a small European square. Once inside you'll enjoy the intimate setting. Here we see a couple of the cast members getting prepared for the rehearsal. James Wetuski (Jesus) is helping to prepare the stage while Marc James (Jeffrey) is deep in thought. After James is finished with what he's doing he has a little conversation with Jere Charlot (Joanne).

Next up for Jere is to work on one of her featured numbers in the show with pianist Gary Gillespie. Jere lets it all out as Louis Crespo (Lamar) helps to get some more things into place.

Linda Carness (Peggy) is having a conversation with Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas), while James trys to wail with a Ukulele. There are a few more things to go over before the rehearsal begins, so Lonnie points out some of the things that need to be done.

Here we see Janet Hansen, our director, giving some notes to Louis, while Marc is looking over his music. Next Janet has some notes to give Lonnie, as some of the later arrivals start to trickle in.

James is still showing off with the Ukulele, when Laura Brown (Robin) arrives to the rehearsal. After a few more adjustments (moving the keyboard, set pieces, etc.), and some needed warm-ups, the cast is preparing to get to work.

Janet has some notes for Gary, and James once again works out some Ukulele with Gary for the song, "All For The Best". Kathryn Noser (Gilmer) arrives full of energy and ready to rehearse.

Laura looks over her script before we start. Now the rehearsal begins. After the cast sings "Tower of Babble", and Lonnie leads the cast in "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord", James starts us with "Save The People". During Jesus' solo, the cast awaits their next entrance. Here we see Fahlonee Harris (Sonia) preparing to make her entrance, but first going over her script.

Another successful rehearsal behind us. Now it's time for notes with Janet. Just a few technical issues, but we're still early in the rehearsal process. Already the music is sounding terrific. The audience will be thrilled to see it when we finish.

Getting our bearings on this production of "Godspell" is coming very easily for us. Of course most of the cast already had a week to get things started, but you wouldn't be able to tell.

To start off the cast spent some time early in the rehearsal to get to know one another. Here we see James Wetuski (Jesus) with Tony Hall (Herb) and Louis Crespo (Lamar). James has been working with the Ukulele a little too long...

Louis has some pictures on his phone he shares with Kathryn Noser (Gilmer). After a little costuming issues...it's time to start the rehearsal. Here is one of the starting positions for "Tower Of Babble". Of course it will be without the scripts when it's ready for an audience.

Laura Brown (Robin) trys to work out the verbose language in her script. Louis moves forward to give his line, and the cast ends the piece on the stairs behind the audience.

Here we see Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas) working on his routies with James. Next we see Tony with Fahlohnee Harris (Sonia), James and Laura.

Louis adds something to his costume to make it unique for this rehearsal. Jere Charlot (Joanne) is continuing the scene dragging Fahlohnee. Next it's Kathryn's turn as Gilmer.

Marc James is giving his all as Jeffery. Laura is looking rather regal for one of the skits in the show. Tony's looking a little lost in the moment.

What are you doing, Lonnie? Laura is explaining how big the feast was.. while Kathryn is blinded by the light.

The men in the show are proving that they can sing...while James is once again wailing on the Ukulele (I swear...this is beginning to be an epidemic). Janet Hansen, our director, is discussing something with Marc.

As we approach the end of tonight's rehearsal...there are some last minute get togethers with the cast. A bit of serious time arises, and we all go over the script. Janet has some words with Lonnie about where he should be at one point in the show. And that about covers the night. It was exhausting, but that just lets us know that we are almost there. Now all we need to do is get rid of the scripts and start acting...see ya next time.

After a while of getting the blocking set...it becomes more important than ever to get back to the script. Today's rehearsal was all about getting the words right. For anyone who has ever performed "Godspell" or knows anything about it...the characters actually take on the names of the actors portraying them. When reading the script, the names of the characters are the names of the first actors to portray them.

Here we see Jere Charlot (Joanne) and Fahlohnee Harris (Sonia) working out some of their performance. Next the cast went to the costume racks to decide what they would be using in the show. Louis Crespo (Lamar) and James Wetuski (Jesus) go over a few lines that are giving them some trouble.

Kathryn Noser (Gilmer) and Laura Brown (Robin) are still going over the costumes while James picks up the Ukulele to once again go over his chords. This gets everyone's attention.

Laura explains something to Janet Hansen, our director, while she's busy on the phone. The cast is busy in discussions about the costumes. We all have to be very careful about our use of color so that we don't have too much matching. Just the nature of the show itself can be confusing to an audience if not done well, so any help we can give the audience to get to know these characters...even through their costuming will help.

Well after the discussions...it's time to go. Everything is looking great so far, and this cast is gelling together quite well. It will definitely be something to see.

Today is all about getting the set completed. A few of the cast members were able to show up for the set construction.

Working on the texture we see Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas) running the roller along the wall. Janet Hansen our director, even joins us in the painting of the set. Here's Louis Crespo filling up his roller with paint.

Just don't lean back Louis...Beth Webster, our Stage Manager is busy applying more paint to the wall. Lonnie is showing Louis how to mix the colors. Next Lonnie goes on to explain how to apply the paint to make it look like grout-work between drywall and brick.

It's all about the fine details. Lonnie demonstrates how to apply the paint. Next he assigns Louis to complete the task.

It's taking too long to get the detailing done, so Janet and Mark James (Jeffery) join Louis in the detail painting. We all finished rather early today, so Mark helps with the cleanup.

Lonnie stays behind to see what else needs to be completed. As far as he can tell...we just need to paint the bricks. That's going to be the task for next time. Finally Beth goes through some costume pieces to finalize who gets what. What's left...Louis takes a little time to do some juggling.

See ya next time.

Now that we've covered set construction, and work on the script, it's only fitting that we have a few rehearsals dedicated to just the music. "Godspell" has some of the greatist music of any musical...some of the songs have made the jump from stage to radio, so even if you've never seen the musical...you're bound to have heard the music.

Here are some of the actors getting ready to work on some of the music. James Wetuski (Jesus) has automatically picked up the Ukulele each opportunity he's been able to. Laura Brown (Robin) is looking suprised to be photographed at this moment. As is Gary Gillispie, our pianist and music director.

Here we see Linda Carness (Peggy) demonstrating her other talent in the show by accompanying Gary on the flute for "All Good Gifts". Louis Crespo (Lamar) is working hard with cup in hand on his solo for "All Good Gifts". In a relaxed moment Fahlohnee Harris (Sonia) and Jere Charlot (Joanne) are working out the harmonies for "All Good Gifts".

Louis is giving us a little smile while Linda and Gary work out the section of "All Good Gifts" where the flute is featured. Here's Jere and Fahlohnee again.

Laura Brown (Robin) and Mark James (Jeffery) are adding their voices to the harmony. Linda and Gary again. From the seats in the audience Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas) is giving his addition to the song.

Here some of the actors have some relaxed moments. There is not a lot of movement on stage so we can work out the songs in detail. We all sound great. I wish we could cut a CD...we are doing great! (Candid moment)

After the rehearsal Janet Hansen, our director give us a few notes to help with our delivery of the songs. Finally it's time to clear the stage. There's going to be another show on the stage the next day, so we have to move all our costumes and set pieces into a closet on the side of the theater.

One more costume rack and we're done. See ya next time.

All of our rehearsals are becoming more and more relaxed as we all get to know each other better. It's hard work, but we enjoy it so much that it doesn't seem like work at all.

Once again James Wetuski (Jesus) picks up the Ukulele while Fahlohnee Harris (Sonia) and Laura Brown work out some of the music issues. Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas) starts to put the outlines of the bricks on the wall.

Louis Crespo (Lamar) spends the moment discussing something with Beth Webster, our Stage Manager. Again Laura and Fahlohnee are working on the music with Jere Charlot (Joanne) listening in. James has moved on to working on one of his dialogue moments.

With script in hand, the actors work out some of the little moments in the show. Gary Gillispie, our pianist and music director takes a little time for some music rehearsal.

Laura starts off the music in the show by singing the first lines of the prologue. Once again...the cast is relaxed and working on getting the music right.

While the rest of the cast is waiting to come in, Fahlohnee gives her all in "Turn Back, O Man". After the major portion of the music rehearsal...Larah starts to work on some of the choreography with Kathryn Noser (Gilmer).

Heres's a little levity between Kathryn and Mark James (Jeffery). Fahlohnee once again gives "Turn Back, O Man" her all. She's sounding amazing. Again the girls try to work out some of the choreography while Lonnie watches.

Janet Hansen, our director, gives the cast some last minute notes for the evening while Kathryn is taking all this in. Another rehearsal behind us. See ya next time.

We've got a little under a month before opening night, and things are finally getting together. The cast is becoming a well refined unit.

The stage is the first thing that needs to be set, so Janet Hansen, our director and Mark James (Jeffery) are about the stage making some final adjustments.

Lonnie Westeen (John/Judas) is having a discussion with James Wetuski (Jesus) and Louis Crespo (Lamar). James once again has the Ukulele in hand. If anyone asks where the Ukulele is...just ask James.

Here are our musicians at work...starting with Gary Gillispie, our pianist and Music Director...Jame is on Ukulele, of course, and Linda Carness (Peggy) on flute.

Kathryn Noser (Gilmer) puts on her shoes for the start of the rehearsal. Laura Brown (Robin) is working out something with Jere Charlot (Joanne). "Bless The Lord" is Jere's song, and she really gives it her all. Here she is with Mark.

Laura starts us out singing "Day By Day". here Kathryn and Louis are discussing something. Again we have another chance at "Day By Day" and Laura lends her relaxed stylings to the mellow nature of the song.

Janet and Gary go over something in the music. Louis is trying out one of the looks for angels in this show...obviously we aren't going to using this look. Don't worry, Louis. Here Linda Carness (Peggy), Kathryn and Laura work out some more of the choreography.

After a little work on the choreography by the girls, it's time to put things back in the closet. Another show will be using the stage tomorrow. Thats community theater for you...see ya next time.
