1st Verse:
All his life he's been simple,
Yet so misunderstood,
When others were in need,
He did all that he could.
Just a good 'ole country boy,
Living life from day to day,
Dealing with his problems,
Whatever is thrown his way.

Chorus:
Still so young he was dealt a hand,
That many people fear,
He stands tall in front of family,
Alone he cries his tears.
He understands there is a plan,
And for this he must go on,
He won't give up the battle,
He'll do what he is shown.

2nd Verse:
At one time he was wreckless,
He had discursive thoughts,
Now he tries to go back and find,
The morals he was taught.
He holds onto faith, and looks the devil in the eye,
Knowing it could soon all end,
And that he could soon die.

Repeat Chorus:

3rd Verse:
Standing up for what he believes in,
He holds onto his pride,
Quick to fight for family,
He's always on their side,
Now he tries to understand,
The reason for all of his pain,
He knows that Jesus walks with him,
And that he holds his hand.
