This is the humble little web page
for the humble little comedy group called
Manic-Depressive Theater.
MDT is the brainchild of
two brothers, Jeff and Joe Bennett.
The idea was a multi-media sketch comedy show
that mixed stage, "radio", and "T.V."
We premiered at the Artistic Community Theatre in Pekin
and then teamed up with 'The Roost' in Peoria.
The Roost was a sketch troupe that performed at
Haberdasher's Dinner Theatre on Peoria's riverfront.
Together, we expanded our audience by touring places
like One World, Freudian Sip, ICC, and Bradley University.
Today, MDT is a nightmare of mismanagement,
insurance fraud, and gross incompetence.
But the light at the end of the tunnel is,
the group is back in the hands of the founders.
The Bennetts, are re-building the show
that you probably never heard of.
Yippie!
MDT features improv, sketch comedy,
short films, music, and occasional gonzo journalism.
Anyway, we've got a lot of new skits,
some new faces, and some of the same old crap too.
