"You're Asian to the max," as Vincent says. I read lots of shojo manga, watch billions of anime, and I listen to tons of J-pop. I'm always listening to music. My earphones are usually glued to my ears. It's very likely for me to even have the lyrics to the songs I really love.

The reason I have reverted to the Japanese music scene versus the American one is because our mainstream is crap. Everytime I turn on the radio, I hear one of the two: emo rockers complaining about their life or idiotic rappers teaching us how to have sex. I love music that has meaning. There's really only one person in this world who has lyrics that capture my attention. Her name is Hikaru Utada.

Kumiko Koda was an aspiring singer since she was young. She went to many audtions. She even audtioned for the original Morning Musume. Finally, she was taken up by avex trax and debuted in 2000 with the single TAKE BACK. It was released in America as an English club single the following year.

Kumi was not really known until her collaboration with BoA for "The Meaning Of Peace". In 2003, she released real Emotion and 1000 no kotoba (1000 Words) for the hit Square Enix game, Final Fantasy X-2.

In 2005, she released her first best of album. Not too long after, she released a consecutive string of thirteen new singles that carried out into 2006. She now has a second best of album consisting of her new singles, their PVs, and her latest concert.
