between good and evil

camouflage.
Ability to sense a person's true intent. Can also sense balances of
good and
evil (the current balance of Terre disorients him more often than not
when he
focuses on it). Also a skilled musician.
Place Born: Somewhere in Gistar
Lives Now: Tonarm
Crush/Boyfriend/Girlfriend: None.
Appearance: Isoni is tall, about 6'1", and is described as either
"skinny" or
"lean." He has straight auburn hair, tied in a ponytail that ends just
below
his shoulders. A few strands usually escape the ponytail to frame his
face.
He's decent-looking, but not remarkably handsome, with even features,
green
eyes, and a warm, easy smile. Generally he's seen wearing a green
tunic,
tanned breeches, and soft-soled boots. He keeps a dagger in each boot,
and a
small knife is hidden somewhere on his person. A short and slender
cylindrical object is worn behind his ear, much like some people would
wear a
pencil. Isoni also wears a sling and a couple of pouches at his belt
and a
small knapsack (which has, among other things, his flute and pipes).
Personnality: He seems to be little more than a teasing, happy-go-lucky
musician and storyteller, and to some extent that's true. Isoni can
always
see the good in people and situations, and generally glosses over the
bad
parts. A smile is usually on his face, and he has a friendly, trusting
demeanor. However, he uses his surface appearance in a disarming
manner. His
intelligence, powers of observation, and the strength of his
convictions
surprise most people, who initially can't see past his perpetual joy.
He's
also a much better fighter than he leads people to believe.
History: Isoni was a small child when the village of his birth was
destroyed.
He was able to escape death because he hid himself in a filled trough
in his
family's barn, ducking his head beneath the water and holding his
breath
whenever one of the Cheval came into the barn. Two other villagers,
children
a few years older than he, had also managed to survive, and the three
of them
decided to try to find their way to the next village, some miles away.
One of
the children died on the journey of malnutrition, but Isoni and the
girl named
Surelia made their way to the village. However, they found no
survivors.
They continued to travel and barely made into a forest, where they
collapsed soon after their arrival. Isoni and Surelia awakened to find
themselves in the house of Adirian and Kiroli Dusaine, who nursed the
children
to health. This house turned out to be part of the small forest
"village" of
Arebor. Although a quite small village in terms of numbers (not even
two
dozen people resided there), Arebor was special, for the people
actually lived
IN the trees, rather than below them. The residents were survivors
from
several other villages, who had built houses among the tree branches in
order
to hide from Cheval.
Isoni and Surelia were adopted into the Dusaine family, and they
began to
learn the ways of these unusual villagers. Isoni learned them
particularly
quickly, mastering the camouflage that was the village's livelihood and
their
ways of fighting.
He found much joy in Arebor, but he knew that he could not live
such a
life forever. He knew that things were not as they should be, that
people
should not have to live high in the trees just to evade the Cheval.
Isoni
made up his mind to restore things to how they once were, and when he
was
fifteen he left Arebor with one of his adopted brothers, Arisad, to
seek out
and join the Renaissance.
