For those of you who may not know what a Reborn Berenguer Doll is...let me enlighten you...The Berenguer Dolls are exquisite vinyl dolls that are originally produced to be children's play dolls! They are very realistic looking in alot of ways...The process of REBORNING simply brings these dolls to "life" and transforms them from children's toys to cherished collectibles! The art of Reborning is a long and tedious process;It involves many paiting, blushing, re-constucting, and imaginative techniques! The dolls are taken completely apart, "washed", all factory paint removed, blushed, given new cuddly bodies, weighted to a "real" baby weight, given eyelashes, eyebrows, open nostrils and hair (whether it be hand-rooted or a custom wig). Then their fingernails and toenails are delicately painted to give them a true~to~life look! These dolls are amazing, as is, but once they are reborn...they are even more lifelike! Many Reborn artists use different techniques to bring their babies to life. Each artist has their own ideas and ways of reborning.
I came into the reborning business quite by accident...I was looking for Lee Middleton Dolls on ebay when I clicked on the vinyl category and discovered the Berenguers! I was absolutely AMAZED by their realism and knew, then and there, that I HAD to have one...So, I purchased my first from a very talented Reborn Artist! Then...I purchased my second... Needless to say, I was hooked! I began chatting with the lady that I purchased my dolls from and decided to try it, myself! She has been my major source of support and, most definitely, my inspiration! I have definitely found a new passion!!!!! I have done many dolls and had many satisfied customers!
