| Step #1 ( Quick Kill ) A bath and dip are the most effective and fastest mothods SHAMPOO (puppies) Most flea shampoos recommend leaving them on about 15 minutes for best kill. There is NO residual kill from shampoo; once it is rinced off, it no longer kills fleas. DIP ( Paramite ) The dip is a stroger chemical solution. Apply it to a clean pet and leave it on. DO NOT rinse off the dip. DO NOT reapply dip more often than once every two weeks. DO NOT use flea collars, sprays, ect. for five days after dipping. DO NOT use dip on sick, old, or pregnant pets. Step #2 ( Flea Control Maintenance ) You need a maintenance program to keep the flea population under control on your pet. ADVANTAGE (puppies) Advantage is a small dose, once a month application. SPRAY ( Adums ) Be sure to wet the hair coat with the spray and rub down into the skin. DO NOT use under 12 weeks of age. NUTRITION Brewers Yeast with Garlic tablets (one tablet a day) Step #3 ( If you have fleas on your pet, you have fleas in your home ) VACUUM, VACUUM, VACUUM The heat, vibration and pressure from the vacuum cause the flea to emerge froom the cocoon and jump. The fleas get sucked up and thrown out with the bag. RAKE Rake the leaves and remove brush piles. Fleas like damp, dark places, and in the heat of the summer - so do dogs. YARD SPRAY Treat your yard before puppy comes home. |
