In 1998/99, the NBA players went on strike. The strike was not resolved until February and a little less than half of the season was lost.
As a way to say sorry to the fans, the LA Lakers sent out Valentine's cards to their season ticket holders. From what I know, all players signed cards - in what quantities is uncertain. This Valentine's card, furinished by NBA.com, happens to be autographed by KOBE BRYANT.
