Illegal Substances

ORIGINALLY POSTED MAY 10

No, I'm not talking about drugs. I'm talking about my fridge. It's not technically illegal, but that didn't prevent me from hiding it in my closet today. That's right. You read that correctly. I put my fridge in my closet. Why you ask?

Twice a year (once in Nov and once now) our rooms are inspected by these guys. I don't know who they are, just guys. They aren't inspecting "the room", you know checking to see if the room needs things fixed or if it needs to be painted. No, they are checking to make sure that your room isn't too messy. I'm not kidding. Last semester a girl was called down to the main office to make sure she was okay because her room was too messy. Then they told her she needed to clean her room. She was 21. My mom didn't even do this when I was little. Now I live in a place where I'm paying rent and I have some strangers coming through, entering my room when I'm not there and deciding if it's clean or not. Oh, the fridge, I put that in the closet because if you have a fridge you're supposed to pay some fee. I prefer not. I barely get enough to live on.

In other news, I went to see the movie The Reaping last night. I would not recommend. I went with my friend Jordan (from Louisiana) who had his debut cinematic role in this film. He was an extra in one of the scenes. He didn't see himself, but I saw him. Poor guy. That means he has to rent it.

Last weekend I went to the Netherlands to stay with an Estonian family. Figure that one out. Anyways, we did some site seeing in Germany while we were there. I know, why Germany, why not the Netherlands. It's all the same. I saw the city of Aachen, where I saw the box with the relics of Charlemagne (He was the first official French Emporeur/king in 800AD). I also had the opportunity to be in three countries at the exact same moment (Belgium, Netherlands and Germany)! There will be a picture on my photos page. Hopefully tomorrow (Friday). It has been really hard to get on the internet in my residence hall. Sunday I had to wait a half an hour to call home. Finally, someone who was watching a tv sitcom had the decency to move.

This weekend I will be going for a tour of Tournai on Saturday and then on Sunday I will be going to Brussels for a Fulbright Farewell. Then next Thursday, I'm off to Germany to see my folks! Yay! But right now, I must get over my cold. Toodles.
