I arrived in Belgium on Sunday after the longest possible day of travel. For you future travellers going through England please note that you are only allowed ONE carry-on and it's small. If you have more than one, they will make you go through customs, so currently I have paperwork on file in London, but Brussels didn't make me do anything. I did make the mistake in Brussels of walking from the train station to my hotel. Don't worry, as I was walking through Central Brussels with my luggage, there was a festival going on. After 20 hours of traveling, it was definitely what I didn't need.
My short stay in Brussels was good. I had an orientation Monday morning, then lunch on the Grand Place, and then a long (2 1/2 hours) walking tour. The picture I have here is of the "Manekin Pis". I couldn't find my camera in time to get pictures of the Grand Place.
Tuesday I made my way to Mons. I have moved into my apartment, well dorm I should say, and I have opened a bank account. Today's plan is to find my professor and get a cell phone. I'm off.
