Adventures with Limoncello
At SuperCon in early February, Jules introduced us all to Limoncello, an Italian lemon liqueur. We drooled. Then Lynda bought some. It was a largish bottle, so we started doing cooking experiments with it.

- Pound Cake with Limoncello -- We'd been saying for several days that we should make pound cake and pour limoncello over it, so today I made pound cake. I brought it over to Brian's and we poured limoncello over slices of it. It was good, but not as good as we'd hoped. Somehow the lemony-ness of the liqueur was greatly reduced by soaking into the cake. Brian's theory was that there weren't as many vapors that way, and the vapors tend to enhance the taste. Seems logical.
- Peach Tea with Limoncello -- When the pound cake wasn't entirely a success, Lynda said, "You could spike your tea." So I did. It worked surprisingly well with peach.
- Peppermint Tea with Limoncello -- We weren't sure this would work, but it turned out okay. I don't think I put quite as much limoncello in it, though, so it was a little harder to taste past the peppermint.
