HOLIDAY SQUARES

Ingredients:

 

2 sticks of margarine

1 ¼ cups sugar

4 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

2 ½ cups flour

Cherry pie filling (preserves or other flavored pie fillings can be used)

 

Directions:

 

Mix margarine and sugar for 5 minutes until smooth.  Beat in 1 egg at a time.  Add vanilla and mix.  Blend in flour.  Spread evenly in a greased and floured jelly roll pan (10 ½" x 15" x 2").

 

Before baking, score off cake with knife into approximately 24 squares.  Fill top of each square with 1 tsp of preserves or pie filling.  Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
