Ingredients:
1 – 8oz package
chopped dates ¼ cup soft
butter
2 tsp baking soda 2 cups sugar
2 cups boiling water 2 eggs
Directions:
Mix and cool
ingredients in bowl #1. Cream together
ingredients in bowl #2. Add to bowl #2
the following ingredients and mix until smooth:
3 cups flour
⅓ tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
½ cup chopped
walnuts
Add contents of bowl
#1 to bowl #2. Pour into well greased
pans or cans – fill ⅔
full.
Baking directions:
Meat loaf sized pan 350° approximately 1 hour
Glass loaf pan 325° approximately 1 hour
Soup can 300° approximately 1 ¼ hours
To test, insert
knife.
