Bagels)

Ingredients:
4 lbs all purpose
flour
2 cups sugar
2 cups white wine
2 cups vegetable oil
8 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp anise seeds
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar and mix well. Make a well in flour/sugar mixture. Mix oil, wine and anise seeds into flour
mixture. After all liquids are mixed,
fold flour inward to make a dough. Work
well until there is no flour showing.
Place dough on a floured board and knead for ½ hour. Roll dough into long roll, about 3" in diameter. Cut into ½"
pieces. Shape into bagels ( ½ the size
of regular bagel) and place each on a baking dish. Baste each bagel with oil and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 30 – 40 minutes.
