Ok, if you don't know what the movie is about, here's a quick synopsis written by our own miss jordi [note: tuesday is asleep in my room and there's a distinct lack of things to do]. the movie begins with a drag queen, hedwig, touring the US with her band, the angry inch. in her performances, you learn the story of her boyhood, her marriage to an american GI and her love of a certain rock and roll "icon". tommy gnosis, international song star, and hedwig knew eachother in earlier days when hedwig taught him everything about rock and roll. later, tommy is famous without an ounce of credit given to hedwig. this is an absolutely wonderful movie and even though i did a horrible job of synopsisizing it, it's powerful and the music is fabulous. aaahhh... i could go on forever about how great it is. |
