SONIA GANDHI
Sonia Gandhi,the daughter in law of Indira Gandhi is the present president of the Congress Party.She has to take up this post under those circumstances when Congress party was heading towards extinction.

Sonia Gandhi : Born Sonia Maino on December 9 to Stephano and Paola Maino. She grew up in Orbassano, a small town near the city of Torino in Italy. She met Rajiv while he was studying in Cambridge and they were married in 1968. She made a reluctant entry into Indian politics after Rajiv's assassination in 1991. Became Chairwoman of the Indian Corngress in 1998. Now leads the opposition.
