World Hockey Association 2 Press Release

CELEBRATION, Fla. The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) today announced the format for the Inaugural WHA2 All-Star Game on January 27 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Jacksonville Barracudas will take on the WHA2 All-Stars. The starting line-up will be determined by a vote of the fans. Fans can visit the WHA2 league website or any of the team sites to cast their votes. All WHA2 players are listed on the ballot, and fans can choose to vote for up to three forwards, up to two defensemen, and one goaltender. One lucky fan will be chosen from all those who submit ballots to win an autographed WHA2 jersey. One ballot per person please.

Any Jacksonville player voted to the starting line-up will be recognized as a fan-voted starter. The next highest vote-getter for that position will start for the All-Stars. Starting line-up voting will end at midnight on December 31.

Head Coach Jim Paeks Orlando Seals are at the top of the standings with 25 points, out of reach of the rest of the WHA2 teams (excluding Jacksonville) before the December 31 deadline. Paek will have the honor of being the Head Coach for the All-Star Game. The coach of the team with the second best record (excluding host Jacksonville) will join Paek behind the bench as the assistant coach for the All-Star Team. The coaches will determine the rest of the All-Star line-up which, including the starters, will be comprised of two goaltenders, five defensemen, and nine forwards. The coaches will also choose an equipment manager and trainer. The final All-Star roster will be announced the week of January 5.

Fans can purchase the All-Star Fan Package which includes two lower bowl tickets in the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, one parking pass, two inaugural WHA2 All-Star Game t-shirts, and two inaugural WHA2 All-Star Game posters for $39.00.
