WHA2 Releases Schedule Through January | ||
World Hockey Association 2 Press ReleaseCELEBRATION, Fla. � The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) today released the WHA2 schedule through January with some minor changes to the first third of the schedule.Both the Miami Manatees who will face the Macon Trax and the Orlando Seals who will take on the Loggerheads will have their home opener on November 8th. The Manatees versus the Seals, originally scheduled for November 7th, has been moved to November 26th. The Barracudas will open their season at home at the brand new, state-of-the-art, 16,000-seat Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on November 28th. They will take on the Miami Manatees. �The �Cudas second game should be a �can�t miss� on the calendar.� WHA2 President of Hockey Operations Peter Young said. �That�s the Saturday of the Florida-Florida State football classic. The �Cudas are playing a 12:30 pm game so that at the end of the �Cudas game all the fans can walk over to Alltel stadium to join those watching the football game on the JumboTron.� Jacksonville has also been added as the opponent for the Saturday, November 15th game at the Miami Arena, replacing the Macon Trax. The remainder of the 2003-2004 schedule has been set but will not be released pending last minute changes to the Orlando Predators schedule. The WHA2 regular season will end on Sunday, April 4. The WHA2 will ice six teams for the 2003 � 2004 season and play a 21 week, 60 game schedule. The Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, Orlando Seals will open training camps with player physicals no later than October 25th.
