World Hockey Association 2 Press Release

CELEBRATION, Fla. World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) co-founders David Waronker and Peter Young today announced that Joe Fellini has been named Director of Game Day Operations for the WHA2.

Fellini is responsible for coordinating all game day operations for all teams in the WHA2. Fellini was promoted from his General Manager position with the Orlando Seals to the league office position and will begin his new duties immediately.

Several of us in the league office were concerned about game operations for all of our teams. Waronker said. We knew that Orlando was well under control. When we thought further about who could help us as a league to have fun and professional games that our fans will enjoy attending, the name that kept coming up was Joe.

He is very talented in game operations and he can make sure that fans attending any WHA2 game will have an entertaining experience. Waronker said.

When I arrived last January the first thing I realized was that the Orlando Seals presented an NHL caliber game night experience for their fans. Young said. Joe Fellini was the reason behind that. He is by far the most knowledgeable individual in our entire organization in this regard and will not only assist in Orlando but will make going to the game more fun in all of our cities.

Im especially looking forward to working with Joe on opening night in Jacksonville with all of their new, state of the art, equipment.

Fellini began his career with the Seals as the Game Operations Manager before being promoted to Asst. GM and then on to GM. Fellini spent the 2001 -02 season as Director of Ticket Sales for the America West Hockey League's Tupelo T-Rex and National Indoor Football League's Tupelo FireAnts.

No stranger to Orlando hockey, Fellini was an account executive with the International Hockey League Orlando Solar Bears.

Its an exciting opportunity for me to go from city to city and have a chance to work with all the teams with their game operations. Fellini said.

It has always been my strength and something Ive done in a lot of different markets. I have a pretty good feel for it. Im excited to lend my expertise to all of the WHA2 teams.
