WHA2 Action Last Night: The Orlando Seals won their fifth game in a row by defeating the Barracudas in overtime on a Mark White goal to make the score 1-0. The Alabama Slammers unloaded on the Macon Trax by a score of 9-3. Ryan Prentice and Paul Vincent each had 3 points. Standings:
Jacksonville: 23 pts Last Game: The Manatees defeated the Lakeland Loggerheads last night by a score of 2-1. Getting goals for the Manatees were Eric Perricone and Ryan Kiley, who scored the game-winner in the third period. Mark Gowan earned his third consecutive victory of the season, making 29 saves on 30 shots. Transactions: Center Todd Nowicki played his last professional hockey game last Saturday, as he recently was accepted into the police academy in Buffalo. Keep an eye on miamimanatees.com for a follow-up story when Nowicki graduates from the police academy and starts his law enforcement career. Defenseman Dmitri Doulebenets has taken a leave of absence to return home to tend to a sick family member, and is expected back at a later date.
