Miami Manatees Press Release

Welcome to the Sept 15th edition of the Miami Manatees MAKING WAVES, your helpful event guide for the appearances of your Miami Manatees players, coaches, and staff.

Monday, September 15th at Kendall Ice Arena from 6:15p to 9:00p

Come out and meet Miami Manatees right wing Matt Kohansky as he helps Kendall Ice Arenas in-house hockey program through three on-ice practices.

Tuesday, September 16th at Kendall Ice Arena at 7:45p

Manatee players Kevin Swider, J-F Picard, Matt Kohansky, and Mark Scally will take to the ice for the first time with the newly re-named Jr. Manatees travel hockey team. The Manatee players will assist the Jr. Manatees coach to give on-ice personal instructions.

Kendall Ice Arena is located at 10355 Hammocks Blvd, Kendall, FL 33196. Their telephone number is 305-386-8288.

Wednesday, September 17th at Armbrister Park at 5:00p to 6:00p

Goalie Mark Scally will continue the Manatees commitment to Miamis PAL program by being on-hand to give tips to the local kids on hand to learn the game of roller hockey.

Armbrister Park is located at 236 Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove. Call the Manatees office at 305-536-7825 x 102 if interested in attending.

Friday, September 19th at the UM Canes Carnival from 4:00p to 6:00p

Manatee Mascot Manahee and Manatees staff will be taking part with the UM Law Schools HOPE Foundation. Local kids will be on hand at the Law School courtyard for a day of activities, and Manahee will entertain and delight all those in attendance.

Canes Carnival is located 1311 Miller Drive, Coral Gables, Fl 33124.

Saturday, September 20th at Watson Island from 8:00a to 5:00p

Race Week Miami kicks off with the Race Adventure, an all-day fun-fest for local kids. Manatee players, mascots and staff will be on hand to sign autographs and assist with the fun activities. At around 3:00pm, Miami Police Chief Timoney will captain his dragon boat (a specially constructed recreation of a Chinese boat) behind the rowing power of the Miami Manatees players and Coach Boyer.

Odds of the team winning are very good since no other boats will speed past a boat captained by the Chief of Police.

Sunday, September 21st at Kendall Ice Arena at 9:00a to 1:00p

Manatees staff will be on hand on the final day of the FAHL seeding tournament. Come out and put down your deposit for season tickets, and pick up your exclusive Manatee merchandise, such as hats, t-shirts, practice jerseys and pucks.

Kendall Ice Arena is located at 10355 Hammocks Blvd, Kendall, FL 33196. Their telephone number is 305-386-8288.

Make sure to check back often in the Community News section of www.miamimanatees.com for the latest schedule of appearances or breaking news for your neighborhood events!
