Manatees lose in overtime | ||
First loss at home this seasonMiami Manatees Press ReleaseMIAMI - The Manatees gave up a late overtime goal to lose their first game on home ice Sunday night to the visiting Alabama Slammers by a score of 4-3. Alabama's Paul Vincent scored three goals by the second period, extending his league lead in scoring to 31 points.The Manatees got goals from Dan Donnette and Todd Nowicki, while Eric Perricone's game-tying goal at 8:33 of the third period sent the game to the extra session. In the overtime period, Alabama's Jorin Welsh shot the puck from the left circle to beat Mark Gowan for the game-winner. Gowan made 32 saves on 36 shots, and Frederick Beaubien stopped 38 of 41 shots in the winning effort for the Slammers. The Manatees will take on the Barracudas at home next Friday, December 19th at 7:00 pm.
