Manatees hold fan and booster club gathering | ||
Miami Manatees Press ReleaseThe Miami Manatees hosted their first of many fan and booster club gatherings on Sept 9th.Manatee Fans came out to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company at the Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami for a fun time and great food. Bubba Gump donated platters of their best appetizers, and Molson beer came through with plenty of ice-cold brews to quench the thirst on the usual humid South Florida night. The evening started with the introductions of the entire Manatee staff on hand, and General Manager Shawn Thorimbert thanked the gathering for their support, and announced a referral program. An autographed team jersey will be awarded to any season ticket holder who signs up six new season ticket holders for the Manatees season. Manatee players Matt Kohansky and Mark Scally were formerly introduced, and Coach Zac Boyer spoke and told the fans what to expect for the upcoming season. A fast, physical, and high-scoring team is going to be expected, and several more new players will be announced over the next few weeks. Four lucky fans who knew the right answers to a brief trivia contest won hats, shirts, and a Manatees practice jersey. After several more rounds of appetizer platters and refreshments came out, the fans and players all got to know each other with interesting conversations. The fans optimistically look forward to a great season, and to the excitement of Manatee hockey rocking the Miami Arena.
