Seals outlast Manatees in overtime | ||
From Staff ReportsDavid Goverde made 36 saves, and Mike Sanderson scored in overtime to lift the Orlando Seals past the Miami Manatees 5-4 in a World Hockey Association 2 game at TD Waterhouse Centre.Brad Federenko added two goals for the Seals, including the game-tying goal with less than two minutes left in regulation. It sent the Seals to their first overtime period of the season. In that period, Sanderson took advantage of the open ice to score his fourth goal of the season from Tomas Jelinek at 1:26. Seamus Galligan got the Seals on the board early in the first period with his first goal of the season. Eric Perricone tied the score on a penalty shot just more than a minute later. Orlando's Jerry Keefe scored his first goal of the season with a power-play tally at 15:25 of the first, but former Seal Todd Nowicki capitalized on a Miami power-play opportunity at 19:11 of the second period.
