Manatees squeak past Seals | ||
From Wire ReportsMIAMI -- Dmitri Doulebenets deflected in a shot with 45 seconds remaining to give the Miami Manatees a 4-3 victory over the Orlando Seals in a World Hockey Association 2 game Wednesday.Late in the third period, Miami's Oak Hewer fired a shot that Doulebenets tipped past goalie David Goverde, sending the Seals (3-2) three points behind first-place Miami (4-0-1) in the standings. Doulebenets, a defenseman, also had an assist when Eric Perricone tipped in his shot for a first-period goal. B.J. Stephens, Joe Pecoraro and Jerry Keefe scored for Orlando, which gave up three goals on 14 shots in the final period. Tom Perry and former Seal Todd Nowicki also scored for the Manatees. Orlando plays next at Macon at 7:35 p.m. Friday, before returning home for a 7:30 p.m. game Saturday agianst Miami.
