The Lakeland Loggerheads won on a goal by Bobby Clouston with four-tenths of a second left in overtime to defeat Miami, 6-5, on Saturday night at The Lakeland Center before a crowd of 1,597 fans.

Clouston took the puck right to the net in the waning seconds, beating Manatee goalie Sean Weaver on the low-blocker side for the victory. The assists went to Rich Spiller and goalie Carl Poissant. It was Clouston's second goal of the night.

"I got a little lucky, but if that's what it takes, I want to be lucky all the time," said Clouston.

It was Joe Seroski, with his second goal, who put the game into overtime with a wicked, laser slap shot at 6:13 of the third period assisted by Spiller and Chris Cerrella.

This was Lakeland's first two-game winning streak. The Loggerheads are 4-1 at home against Miami.

Lakeland was outshot for the first time in six games, as the Manatees put 45 shots on goalie Poissant, who was a standout in the Loggerhead net. Lakeland put 36 shots on Miami's Weaver.

Lakeland was on the board first in period one when Chris Harper scored at 3:59, assisted by Curtis Sayler and Lenny Bonnano.

Miami scored the next two goals. It was 2-1 after period one.

Five goals were scored in the second period, three by the Loggerheads. Lakeland players Seroski, Clouston and Cerrella all scored.

Seroski scored in the third to tie the game after a Miami goal to send the game to overtime.

Lakeland will host Orlando on Feb. 29 at The Lakeland Center at 7:05 p.m.
