From Staff and Wire Reports

Kevin Swider scored on a breakaway in overtime, his third goal of the game, as the Miami Manatees defeated the Macon (Ga.) Trax 7-6 on Sunday.

The victory extended Miami's home record to a WHA2-best 14-1-1. The Manatees are tied with Alabama for second place with 37 points at the season's midpoint.

Greg LeColst and Swider scored during a 2:41 span to start the second period for Miami, and Swider scored again at the 11:54 mark to make it 5-2.

But Macon's Art Mnatsakanov, David Deeves and Andrew Katzberg scored to force overtime.

Swider's hat trick was the second in two days for Miami, which got three goals from Oak Hewer in a 7-3 victory over the Orlando Seals on Saturday.

Tom Perry, Dan Donnette and Hewer also scored against the Trax.
