A staff reportWINSTON-SALEM - Ryan Kiley scored a pair of goals and Mike Maurice assisted on two others as Cape Fear routed Winston-Salem 7-2 Friday night in front of 1,180 at Lawrence-Joel Memorial Coliseum annex.Chris Migliore, David Bagley, Scott Young, Matt Shannon and Mike Bournazakis also scored for the Cape Fear. Goalie Kevin Fines made 28 saves for Cape Fear. The FireAntz led 2-0 after the first period and took a three-goal lead on Bagley's goal 2:35 into the second period. Winston-Salem netted a goal from Jason Sanguliano, but scores from Young and Kiley - his second of the game - put Cape Fear up 5-1 after two periods. TBirds goalie Cam McCormick stopped 34 shots, but it wasn't nearly enough. Chris Seifert scored Winston-Salem's other goal, early in the third period. However, Cape Fear still led 5-2. Cape Fear has won the last eight meetings with the TBirds, last losing at Winston-Salem, 5-2 on Dec. 31. Cape Fear (17-22, 34 points) took a two-point lead over the TBirds entering tonight's rematch at the Crown Coliseum. Game time is set for 7:35 p.m.
