Ami is the most serious out of the Sailor Senshi. She is an intelligent girl, and sometimes a bit shy. An excellent friend, Ami tends to be the most patient of all the girls when it comes to Usagi. She's rather rich, and lives in a VERY nice apartment with her her mother, who is a doctor. (And who is hardly ever around.) Unlike the other girls, Ami would rather spend her time studying (i.e. getting herself 10 chapters ahead of everyone else) as opposed to shopping and gossiping. But she does to enjoy spending time with her friends, and they are very special to her. Sailormercury appears in episode 8 of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, when a new student named
Mizuno Ami transfers into Usagi's school. Usagi befriends her, and they go to Crown Game Center together after school. Ami starts playing the Sailor V game, but stops as she looks at her watch and realizes that she's going to be late to her cram school. She rushes off, and drops a disk on the way that Usagi picks up. Since Luna is a bit suspicious about Ami, they go back to the school to see what's on the disk. As Luna pops it into the computer, an eerie sort of sound and energy stars seeping out of the computer, and Luna finds that her suspicions were
right: Ami is a agent from the Dark Kingdom. Meanwhile, at the cram school, Ami is frantically searching through her bag for her disk, and, (of course) can't find it. The instructor then comes up and tells her to continue studying with the "Crystal Disk" and she'll become more intelligent. Ami nods politely, but thinks to herself about how she gets a headache whenever she studies with the disk. By now,Usagi and Luna are outside of the school, and Usagi disguises herself to enter the building. As the run into the classroom, they see all the students losing energy. Usagi (who's still in disguise) accuses Ami(the only one still okay) for all of this, and transforms into Sailormoon as the instructor turns into one of those hideous-looking creatures and grabs Ami. Sailormoon quickly realizes her
mistake in assuming who the enemy was, and is bombarded by razor sharp test papers (**See, knew those things were evil!**) which the youma begins thowing at her. Once Sailormoon gracefully corners herself, the monster turns its attentions to Ami, pressing her up against the computer to suck her energy. As Ami is screaming and crying out, the mark of Mercury appears on her forehead, and Luna spots this. And so the cat does on of those kool little flip-thingies and produces the henshin Wand for Mercury. She tosses the stick to Ami, who is about
to get sliced and diced by the youma, and tells her to shout "Mercury Power, Make-Up!" Ami does so, and changes into the Senshi we all know and love, Sailormercury. ^_^ She then uses her Shabon Spray to fog up the room and lower the temperature, and Sailormoon then uses her tiara to kill the youma. ^_^

Sailormercury can easily be described as the "brains" of
the Sailor Senshi. Her attacks are mostly defensive, and
tend to be a bit weak. Mercury will usually be one of
the last to attack, but takes the time to analyse and
think out a situation before she moves to strike. Her
attacks revolve around water, and, for the most part,
become stronger towards the end of the show.
